I never did find out why they provide a second tube, which is presumably rosin. The paste works just fine as-is, melting at a low temperature. I'm able to run my reflow oven and hot air gun at lower temps by using this solder. I'm quite happy with it. The consistency is also easy to work with. I've only done one reflow, but it was just fine. I've done extensive hot air work, and it's a pleasure to work with.
The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is that I'd rather not be paying for a tube of rosin I'm not going to use.
