I was booked for an Antarctic adventure, when I found out that the boots that the travel agency provided were sizes 6 and above (in women's sizes)... I wear a size 5. I had to get my own boots and fast!
I chose these, mostly on a shot-in-the-dark purchase. I was NOT disappointed!
Everything about these boots is ultra high quality. With them, my feet were safe, dry, and warm throughout my entire trip to Antarctica! These boots brought me through: wading in ankle-high Antarctic waters, climbing up hills with knee-high snow drifts, walking on sharp icy rocks, and beyond... all in below-freezing temperatures! They are very heavy for shoes, but they don't feel too heavy while wearing them. Sure, my suitcase was weightier than everyone else's, but it was DEFINITELY worth it! These boots outshone the provided boots by a mile! And after the trip? Not a scratch on them! A specific feature that I found wonderful is the elastic pull on the top, with the holding clip. you can cinch this up, and nothing will get in!
Another great trait of these boots is that they are true to size. Many insulated snow boots are tight, since the outside is true to size, but then the insulation shrinks the space on the inside. These boots appear larger than their shoe size, but fit perfectly with the thick insulation.
Also, these boots provide great arch support, and excellent ankle support- no danger of slipping and twisting your ankle with these.
All in all, these boots are the best boots I've ever come upon, and last beautifully through the most extreme conditions!

I absolutely love this boot. I just moved to Colorado and these boots have been perfect for tromping in the snow and taking my dog out on walks in. I usually chronically have cold feet however i'm not even the least bit cold in these. I would definitely recommend this boot to everyone!

These boots are absolutely fabulous in weather so cold you don't care what you look like. I save them for days in which the temperature drops below 18 degrees Fahrenheit. They keep my feet warm in subzero weather, which no boot has ever done before. They are sturdy, thick, and heavy, which is what you need in super-cold temps. The felt lining is removable for cleaning or replacing (it's also replaceable). Other reviewers mentioned how large the boots are relative to their feet--this is true, and it is this extra bulk which provides room for the insulation that keeps you warm. The top drawstring keeps you from getting snow down the shaft in deep drifts, and the thick sole insulates you from the cold of the ground. The lacing on the ankle allows you to bind them securely to your feet so you don't step out of them. If you have to spend time outside in snow and cold, cold temperatures, these are the boots you want. If you want something fashionable that looks good in half an inch of snow in only moderately cold temperatures, check out some of Sorel's less-mighty but cuter options.

I estimate Sorel boots run half a size small--I usually wear a 7.5 in women's shoes, and the 7 of these boots and my other Sorel boots fit perfectly.

This boot is super warm and cozy. A little heavy, but safe feeling on slick sidewalks and big snow banks. My only complaint is that I ordered a size 6 based on the sizing info available and I think the boot feels a little roomy. Also, I picked these because I wanted a boot I could tuck my pants into on my way in to work, but with the booty inside I can't do that and my pants get a bit wrinkly being pushed up to accommodate the boot. Overall, this is a great boot for New England winters.

Living in Northern Wisconsin you would think I would have found this boot before now!! I spent 10 hours last weekend ON THE ice, not in the fish house and my feet were toasty both days! Before purchasing these, by the time I made out to the house my feet would already be freezing and I hated to leave the warmth of the fish house because my feet never warmed up.
Yes, they are Frankenstein Boots - but I can drive my manual transmission, small Toyota pick-up while wearing them.
No, they are not "heavy" - you know they are on your feet but in no way do you labor when you walk.
Size: I usually wear a 7.5 but bought a 8 and am very happy I did - they fit perfectly with my wool socks.
The Height: Yep, they go up high and they are snug - so don't plan on tucking much into them. I wear yoga pants under my bids which works out really well. I haven't tried wearing them with jeans.
I cannot recommend these boots enough for women with chronically cold feet!

This is the forth pair of boots I ordered this fall, and the BEST for warmth at -100 degrees, comfort, weight, and better quieter upper. They ARE spacious, as other reviews say, but I ordered my normal size anyway, and they are big enough to wear thick/fuzzy socks. The Snowgoose I sent back was nice too, but the nylon upper was crispy, crunchy papery sounding -and I did not want that. My second choice was in the under-$100 range, and that was Baffin Snogoose -40 degrees.

I'm heading to Alaska at the end of January and was terrified that my gargantuan calves wouldn't fit inside these boots. Totally do! Plenty of room for the pant leg (and much thicker pants if you're less than 17-17.5" around the calf). I'm a 9Wt, and ordered the size 9 M, it's not too tight around the width of my foot, but with layers of socks it'll be a close call. I will NOT be cold in these puppies though.

So the bottom is rubberized, but the inside is cushioned and insulated plus another felt (1/4" thick) inner liner. You can tell there's a reflective layer in that felt near the outer edge of the liner. The outer "gaiter" of the boot shaft is a wind shell with drawstring to help seal it shut. They are heavier than the average snow boot you'd see off the shelf here in NJ, but weighing arctic cold vs leg stamina, I think the glutes can take it. Just have to work on those shins before I leave.

Your feet will look like anime feet, they are HUGE, but they are so warm that I don't think I'll be worrying about how "Mickey Mouse" my feet look like!
