Fell apart the first use!
1 out of 5 stars
Fell apart the first use!
This thing is poorly built. The first time I used it, the extending pole segments came apart and the pole was rendered useless. I have a much cheaper selfie stick made by Fotopro that has the same extension mechanism, yet it is much sturdier than this piece of junk POV Pole. If you use this, don't be surprised if the pole falls apart and you lose your GoPro!I will contact SP Gadgets for a resolution, hopefully they will make amends.

I picked up the 36" POV pole because I wanted something a bit longer than the GoPole Evo 14-24" that I had been trying out. I'm so happy that I did. The POV is great!

The SP gadgets is cheaper, lighter, shorter (min), longer (max) and better designed/built. The only category that the GoPole may win is the fact that it floats.

The GoPole has a screw in lanyard, the problem is that the metal ring on metal mount will clang and hurt the GoPro's audio. I had to replace the ring with a piece of small rope, but they should have thought about that design issue before releasing it. The POV pole has a solid loop and lanyard that are thicker than the GoPole and make zero noise.

It's kind of pointless that the Evo is still clear. The new twist lock on it is so large, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Also, I hated that the Evo's free spinning extension means that you'll rarely ever line up the GoPro the same twice. The SP Gadgets locks in the same spot every time. The smaller arms are nearly inperceivable.

The POV is almost pocket sized. Much smaller and lighter than the Evo. The grip is stickier and more ergonomic on the POV pole.

I'm extremely happy with my purchase and would suggest others purchase fr SP Gadgets too.

I could not decide wich pole buy for my gopro. After watching many poles and the common issues most of them have (after all you don't want to put your 400 bucks camera in a 5 dollar pole), I decided I should try this one.
Packaging:
It comes nicely packaged in a not so bulky package.
Quality:
The pole seems by no way a cheap pole. It extends smoothly. It has a great quality grip. The blue aluminium on bottom of it looks great.
While using it:
Due to the type of mount it has, the gopro fits steadily and it doen't move as you use it. As the GoPro has a wide angle lens, which makes things look further than they are, you have more than enough with its 36". When fully contracted, it will fit in any small bag.
Overall:
As soon as I started using it, i realized it is a MUST if you have a GoPro. After buying this i barely used my gopro. Now that i have it i use it a lot more.
About customer service:
After a little time of using it, it broke. I decided to contact amazon. They inmediately sent me a free extra pole at no cost.

I've been searching for a good pole for my GoPro for snowboarding. I need something that can handle some beating since I like to ride back country especially through trees.

I've gone through a couple of these different brand: http://www.amazon.com/XShot-Camera-Extender-Cameras-XS2379-F/dp/B000VA4CK8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1390341560&sr=8-2&keywords=xshot
They were not well made and would break after a few uses.

When I found POV Pole 36" GoPro Edition I decided to give it a try even though it was a bit pricey for a GoPro pole. However, I took POV Pole on a trip to Sweden/Norway and after using it for 2 weeks I was not disappointed. The POV Pole feel sturdy in your hand, did not wiggle like the XShot did. It was easy to collapse and expand as needed. The length was perfect and the weight was nice and light (I'm a 5'5 Asian female with small hands and it fits comfortably). I highly recommend this and definitely money well spent. You will probably end up spending just as much if not more by getting those cheap quality poles and have to replace them!

I had purchased a Pole like this on Ebay for about $15, not realizing that it would take until after Xmas for delivery. So to have something for the holidays, I ordered this one based on the limited, but highly recommending reviews. Well both arrived within a few days of each other. And guess what?, they're essentially the same. OK, the handle and strap on the POV Pole 36" GoPro-Edition is a little better, but not worth the $35 price differential. Both are functional, but I expect both won't last more than couple of months with medium usage.
Don't waste your money on this 'pole,' get a cheaper one someplace else.

I wanted a Pole to hold my GoPro Hero3 Black Edition securely and not worry about it breaking or moving around. I looked at it like: why put a $400+ piece of equipment on a rinky-dink pole that was homemade or just cheap and possible loose the GoPro while doing extreme adventures. This pole has a great rubber hand grip that goes up the pole a little bit for different holding positions. The pole itself extends to 36'' as it states and has gotten me plus nine people easily with a possibility of I'd say at least five more by simply holding it in my hand. The only problem I have had with this product is the metal nut that the GoPro Screw screws into. The glue the factory has put on it to hold it there wears off so make sure you put some heavy duty glue there when you get it, this never falls off after your GoPro is attached because after all: it's screwed in! Only when the POV Pole is standing alone does the nut fall off if factory glue has deaerated. Guys I'm telling you: the best GoPro Pole out there. And if you buy it and nothing in this review is true such as not tightening and the extensions keep sliding or something; you got a lemon and simple ask for an exchange.

Owned for over three years and still is perfect for my GoPro HERO5

I have used this product for filming snowboarding multiple times, and hiking once. For snowboarding, it is pretty versatile as you can film other people pretty well, and you can also flip it to film yourself. It extends out pretty far, but is still relatively sturdy. However, after a a couple days of use, my bottom extender became jammed, so it does not extend fully anymore, and I am still trying to get it unjammed. Overall, I say it is a pretty good product, though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome pole

I had my first SP Gadgets POV Pole for about 5 years before it broke. I put it through a lot of hell from snowboarding in the alps, scuba diving in Thailand, Missions in Afghanistan, wakeboarding and all crazy travel adventures so I was amazed it lasted as long as it did......That's why i just had to buy another, I highly recommend. Works amazing in cold and hot weather, and underwater, just make sure you rinse it with fresh water if you take it in the ocean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ottimo. 285-925mm. Leggero, stabile, grip super. Consigli su quale scegliere...
Reviewed in Italy on January 28, 2015

5.0 out of 5 stars El mejor stick para gopro
Reviewed in Spain on June 14, 2014
