The REV Robotics Spark Motor Controller is an inexpensive brushed DC motor controller designed to give FIRST® Robotics Competition teams more bang for their buck. The Spark features 60A continuous current* with passive cooling, bi-directional limit switch inputs for smart mechanism control, an RGB LED status indicator, and a button-activated brake/coast mode.

Seller Warranty Description
These controllers were designed specifically for the FIRST Robotics competition, using a 12 v nominal input, and a 30% duty cycle (3 mins on,7 mins off). Longer use at higher voltages and current draw may cause the units to fail or get extremely hot.

I purchased this speed controller for my teams 2016 FIRST Robotics robot. We used four of them to drive the motors on our drive train for both our competition and practice robot. At no point did we have issues with the speed controller and they were a great lower cost option as compared to some of the other speed controllers out there. I would highly recommend using them if you want some thing lightweight, robust, and reasonably priced.

Pros:
Most inexpensive motor controller for FRC
Small footprint
Sealed (no metal shavings)

Cons:
Wish PWM retention was a bit better. Doesn't handle side loading very well.
No CAN option

If you want a basic, reliable, motor controller, this one works well.

Awesome motor controller for FRC or other high current applications. It's impossible to beat the features it offers at this price. We'll be using several of these on our robot this year.
