I can't see any sign of copper under a magnifier after cutting the cable in half, but...
One of the halves has continuity at least after I crimped a couple of ring terminals on it (my intended application), so I guess it will work OK for use in some testing I intend to do on a solar system I'm designing and building a prototype of. I think I would not use what I think is aluminum (although I could be wrong, I am not an expert in aluminum cable, I only know the basics, and nothing about aluminum with stranding this fine) for a permanent installation in a vehicle which I expected to run without problems for a couple of decades, but I wouldn't use the SAE connectors for that anyhow. I think it will work for my purpose, although I will derate the current I expect it to carry from AWG 10 to AWG 11, just in case. And the price was right for use in cutting up and attaching my own terminals!
