-The lid doesn't make a proper seal when closed, so steam spews out around the edges. Because of this in combination with the useless condensation cup, the cooker ends up sitting in a pool of water on the counter every time.
-When this cooker automatically switches off from cooking the rice is never cooked all the way (most likely because of all the escaping steam). I have to cook all of my rice twice with this cooker.
-The inner pot does not sit snuggly down into the cooker. This doesn't cause much of a problem that I can see during the cooking process, but it does cause quite a dilemma as it spins and tilts inside the cooker while I'm trying to scoop the cooked rice out of it (not to mention that it's also not good for the heating mechanism inside the pot)
-The lid does not stay propped open on its own, resulting in having a hot metal lid constantly falling on my hand while I struggle to scoop rice out of a hot spinning pot!
Long story short, this rice cooker completely defeats the purpose of using a rice cooker instead of the stovetop method. It's messy, inefficient, and dangerous! I'm sad to say this will most likely be going to the landfill, and as I continue my search for a replacement rice cooker I'm not sure I will consider another Sunpentown (SPT) brand cooker at all.

Very efficient nice cooker with easily washable inner cup and has enough space, for a small pressure cookerPublished 10 months ago by Sevgi Ozer
I am giving this rice cooker a 3 star because of the moisture built up inside which spoils the cooked rice easily.Published 12 months ago by Dolly
