From the title on the product page, which includes "Rotary Polisher RO Polisher", one could infer that it is both a rotary and random orbital (RO) polisher (add to that the fact that the manufacturer measures rotation speed in OPM - typically done in the case of RO polishers - and even has a graphic of the chuck that says "Orbit"). However, this is strictly a rotary polisher. Maybe it's really good at that, but it seems the seller was a bit deceptive since there's no orbiting going on here at all (except the orbit mine took from Amazon to me and back to Amazon!).

It's great. Just what I needed to get in small places. It's not a DA type buffer so you need to use it like a normal rotary buffer. It will cut quicker than a DA type. It takes a lighter touch and more control than a DA but works great if you know what you're doing. I just finished a paint correction on my 2015 Corvette and it worked great inside the doors and on step panels. Hard to do with a 4,5,or 6 inch long reach DA. Right tool for the right job! I read a lot of comments on the switch. It worked fine. It's a safety switch so you have to push down on the back first to lift the front over the stops, then push forward.

Solid option for smaller pad polisher

Most of us don't auto detail for hire. Getting tools that allow us to polish in smaller areas can be really expensive, especially for a tool you may very rarely use. I found this to be a great option. I had previously tried an air driven smaller polisher, but it required a huge tank, which I have, or doing a few strokes, then waiting for the pressure to get high enough again. A tool like this provides a sweat spot, since it has a a variety of power settings AND a variety of metal extensions to the pad, so if you need more distance from polisher to pad (to fit in a tighter spot, you have it - with metal that is less inclined to absorb the power of the tool, as pad extension options will. If you don't perform polishing/compounding on a regular basis, this will be a solid tool.

Great rotary for the money with minor flaws

Purchased this to get into using rotary polishers. Off the bat the power on/off button seems flimsy/delicate. Also when I received the machine, I had ordered a Flex 5" 5/8-11 backing plate, well it didn't fit.. The image that shows what the polisher comes with is incorrect under the thread type for the backing plates it comes with. It's labeled as 5/8-11 thread, the manual says M14 though... So I had to order a 5/8-11 male to M14 female adapter to use my Flex backing plate. The polisher seems to work good, with the proper pads this cuts great and finishes down nicely. I've been using this with sonax cutmax and finishing off with sonax perfect finish. I use a orange lake country pad for cutting and a blue LC for finishing. I also purchased this to use in tight areas with a 1-2" pad and gets the job done quick and effortless! If the power button breaks I plan on mounting a toggle switch in its place lol
