This is the first environmentally friendly Flux Pen that can be refilled for a cost effective flux solution. Contains 10 ml of a MILDLY ACTIVATED ROSIN FLUX, TYPE RMA Superior fluxing ability with Instant wetting. It is completely chloride-free. The flux is widely used in electronic applications requiring excellent soldering activity and yielding residues with high water-extractresistivities. Residues are Non-Corrosive and Non-Conductive. If removal of the residue is needed then alcohol should be used. Flux conforms to IPC-ANSI-J-STD-004, Type ROL1. This Product is RoHS Compliant.

I normally use flux paste, but I got this to aid in flux application for some SMD soldering kits I bought here on Amazon recently. This pen works great for that, since you can easily brush flux onto soldering pads on a PCB, and not worry about a blob of paste snagging tiny SMD components.
I've only used mine a couple of times, but it's working fine despite my dropping it onto a concrete floor a few times. If you need it, get it!
This is handy for doing quick touch points on small boards (Arduino) and getting your solder/wires to link up much better. Dab of this on the board, dab on the stripped wire, put some solder on your iron, slip the wire through the hole in the board, touch the end of the wire and the solder will run down the wire, into the hole and thoroughly secure your wires in place. Easy peasy.

The cap on this pen is a pain - when I was soldering with it I was finding myself duct taping the lid to my desk because it's impossible to get the cap off with one hand while holding an iron, and it gets gummed up/sticky easily.
The pen met its death roughly halfway through it's flux quantity when I went to open it for a simple soldering job in a small aircraft and the cap was stuck on and the pen came apart. it sprayed sticky flux all over the cabin floor - was not impressed.
