As for installation, well, the kit left me frustrated and irritated. The bracket bolts were short that attached the calipers to axle flange bracket and they required very excessive, almost an inch in my case, extra spacing to get the caliper to center over the rotor correctly. Further, unless my axle on both ends has warped flanges, the axle flange brackets where also tweaked that required non-parallel shimming to get the caliper equally center top to bottom. Both ends needed the same bas amount of shimming. Once I got that figured out the hard brake lines from the junction block atop the diff to the calipers were 4 - 6 inches too long. This was not a big deal, but after dealling with the misaligned brackets, this was not a fine ending to the installation.
The quality of the parts were fine. Grade 8 bolts throughout and the bracketing all had fine tolerances. One area where the kit really failed for me was the instruction manual. The exploded diagram was of very low resolution and hard to read. This made figuring out orientation of some bracketry a challenge. Also, it would have been nice to have item descriptions for the numbered pieces shown in the diagram. Further the written instructions did not always jive with the diagram. IT is easy to figure out if you have some automotive repair experience and can take your time. They did provide lots of valuable info on setting up the brakes and trouble shooting, though again much is very general in regard to the specific vehicle used. My truck did not have any issues, other than a slight pedal softness, which could very easily be cured by more bleeding.
Because this kits is for more than one vehicle, it would have been nice to have the brackets fit better. I ended up creating permanent spacers out of metal stock once I got the right thickness figured out form stacking washers. I also had to purchase longer grade 8 bolts to make it all fit.
For an over all rating it would have scored 1 point higher if the instructions were better written, more specific tot he vehicle and of greater resolution. Another point higher if the brackets fit and did not require the extreme amount of shimming like my application did. But performance wise, a solid 4 stars on that merit alone and worth every dime of the weak stock brakes they replaced.
