We have only had this case for a week but consider it an excellent purchase- well worth the 5 starts. It is a quality case which protects all sides of the Ipad, has a tight snap-shut closure which will not slip open when in purse, briefcase, or bookbag, It feels that it would adequately protect the iPad should it be dropped (although no experience with that yet). We chose the gray/yellow color- great unisex which we are both happy with. My husband really likes the stand as well- it snaps tight into the back and does not fall open when we are holding the iPad- and most importantly- stays open in the place we choose when using the stand function. The inner flat side that goes against the screen and is a smooth dense foam- does not seem to attract pet hair or dirt very easily. The texture of the outside of the case makes it easy to grasp.
We added the Zagg Invisibleshield (high definition) screen protector to keep our device from future sticky little fingers. If you are not familiar with this protect- it's well worth the extra $35. It comes with a lifetime warranty- (we have bought previous Invisibleshield devices for our cell phones, Kindle, etc).Read more ›

WHAT THIS IS NOT:
This is NOT an OtterBox type case that would provide extreme protection against drops. Per my vid review, it's doubtful it'd prevent damage/cracked screen if dropped from the average height while hand-held.
WHAT IT IS:
Per my subject, the Grip 2 case offers a decent compromise between bulk and reasonable protection with a kick-stand in a stylish package.
- Stylish (subjective)
- good compromise between protection and bulk
- texture doesn't really add much to the grip
- so far, only weak points I feel might be a problem long term is the rubber "hinge" and "lock" that clips the cover to the iPad Air
- despite the metal pin holding it to the case, uncertainty of durability of kickstand over long term if used frequently in typing position
- better choices available if looking for extreme protection
Will report back in long run to see how it holds up.
Disclosure: Grip 2 case purchased from Amazon for personal use.

I like the look of this case, and the plastic feels cleaner on my hands than my last iPad cover did (it was a fiberboard, book-binding style). Read morePublished 8 months ago by Criticalthinker
