I chose this 'small' Scout 2 bag for my MacBook Air because I used an STM bag for an iPad for about six months. I knew the basic design and figured if they did nothing more than upsize it I would be happy. It is exactly what I was hoping it would be.

You can tell the look is understated and, in olive, masculine. What you may not be able to see is the quality of construction. The stitching is clean and strong. The shoulder attachments swivel. The fabric feels plenty tough enough and my iPad bag (same material) looks good as new after six months of real use and cross-country travel. The internal Velcro in that iPad bag shows no signs of fraying (yet, I know Velcro is never "forever").

Some of what I like about this design -- The shoulder pad is comfortable yet removable. Both shoulder strap ends swivel (I hate some other bags whose fixed-end straps get twisted). There is an extra-cool feature in the rear document sleeve. The bottom unzips to securely hold it through the extended handle of most rolling luggage. Airport bliss! The two front pockets are large enough for the extra things I want to carry, reading glasses and a wall charger, while there is an additional pocket for my Kindle or a sheaf of papers. I like the centered front buckle. The overall weight is light, unlike a heavy leather bag, yet strong. The laptop compartment is well padded and softly lined. I like the dual security of the Velcro internal fold-over top and the larger outer buckled fold-over.

The fit for my 13" MacBook Air is 50% of perfect. What I mean is the width of the padded section is dead-on, no motion at all. The pocket is maybe 1" tall so I see room for my laptop to move, front to back in the bag. That section would certainly hold a MacBook Pro or even thicker laptops.

This bag is doing what I wanted. It carries both my 13" Mac Air and my Kindle. There is not a lot of room for extras, but I can carry both chargers, and my wallet. The pockets in the front would be better if there was a way to close them, and the pad for the shoulder strap seems a bit bulky. That may solve itself as the bag continues to break in. And the bag is not lightweight. I think I like the vertical style better, but the bag is very well made. I am not sorry I bought it; it just may not be the "one perfect bag" that meets all of my needs.

This bag is so well designed, and so though out as a modern computer bag. It looks great, but isn't flashy, and is so usable. The cut out in the main flap for the handle is sublime, as it lets you leave the bag open and still pick it up or move it around quickly and easily. The two open pouches in front are just big enough to be very useful, it makes you choose which important items you need in there without being tempted to just dump everything in a huge main pocket like my old computer bag. Lastly, the way the computer compartment is hidden/protected by the velcro flap is awesome. With my MacBook Air in there, it just looks like a regular, small bag. Couldn't be happier with it, if you have a 13" laptop and want to travel on the light side, this bag is awesome!

This bag is very durable and is small yet perfect for holding a half inch binder, my laptop and other daily necessities. What I like the most is the hidden pocket thats specifically designed to hide your laptop away in your bag!

It is a good sturdy bag, not exactly what I wanted from a look or practicality standpoint but the best that I could find in my budget. STM makes good quality bags.

Bought this bag to tote around an Acer Aspire AO756 netbook. It fits just fine and the inside is nice and soft and padded. The pockets and such are fairly nice although I feel it's missing a bit in actual organization. I bought the bag in December of 2012 (it's May of 2015 now) and it still is holding up and feels great, despite being a field installer for phone systems it gets carried all over from the heat to the job site and everywhere in between. All the seams and zippers are still in place and looking good. Well made bag for sure.

I just wish it had the storage of a backpack.
