About the Author

Maurice G. Williams Sr., was born in St. Louis, Mo., and reared in the state of Tennessee. When he was ten years of age, his mother brought home a used set of encyclopedias she purchased at a rummage sale. Those books fascinated him so much that, he read the entire set. Those books allowed him to view the world through a window he never knew existed. Unbeknownst to him, it was then that the flame of knowledge was lit . He attended Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, but dropped out in 1977, for lack of interest; the bright lights of the big city came beckoning . Also, he is a certified pipe fitter, and received his certification in 1980, from the Union Carbide Atomic Facility, located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He was a member of the U.S. Army. He graduated from Jackson St. Community College in 1999, with a degree in History, and was awarded the "Certificate of Merit" from the Tennessee Historical Commission. Moreover, he graduated from Lambuth University in the year 2000, with a degree in History with a double minor; one in Education, and the other in Psychology. He also earned the Dean's List. He also taught school at a correctional facility for a number of years. But, above all, his greatest achievement was being a single parent and surviving! He is the father of three; two are college graduates. He also has three grandchildren; all boys. Email:moewilliams48@yahoo.com
