Hollis had a photo shoot with all of his Olympic teammates at the pool, the same place that Reese King was having a photo shoot with the devil herself, Bellini Chambers, for their reality show, Rolling in the Bacon. That was the day that Hollis' world came to a sudden halt when he first laid his eyes on Melony, Bellini's hair and makeup girl. Hollis tried to talk to Melony and maybe even flirt a bit, but to his absolute horror...she shot any chance of him flirting with her down. It was then that Hollis made it his life mission to become friends and get to know her...maybe even get her to fall in love with him.
Melony was beyond smitten with Hollis...with his killer blue eyes that could hypnotize you with their sparkle, that amazing body that fantasies are made from, and did I mention that cocky bastard attitude of his? F***ing sexy as sin!!
However, Melony does not do relationships. Unfortunately for Melony, Hollis is a serial monogamist and has his sights set on her.
I am so sad to think that this may be the final book in the Stroked Series. This book had to be my favorite in this series because HOLLIS KNIGHTLY...need I say more? Meghan Quinn I need to just say, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!! ❤️
It was fun to see the best friend relationship with Reese and Hollis. Their history is evident when they are together.
Hollis is so cute. And it never seems creepy that he doesn't give up on Melony even though she seems to be pushing him away.
I'm guessing this story must parallel "the Notebook" since they reference it a lot.
Hollis is a fun, cheesy, and so comfortable in his masculinity that he can be effusively romantic. Melony knows she isn't the kind of heroine one roots for because she is crippled by her feelings & therefore sabotages all attempts at love. They do make a perfect pair -- because only someone so sure of his love could get this girl to accept joy.
I feel like Meghan Quinn got into my head and picked out everything I would want in the perfect man...silly, inappropriate, and romantic, with a heart the size of an Olympic pool. She scored a perfect 10 with Hollis. I honestly don't know if there's been an H I've adored more than him. Bodi may own my soul, but Hollis stole my heart.
Stroked Hard was the perfect conclusion to this series. It has all the humor and heat you'd want in a Meghan Quinn book, with just enough angst and frustration to keep things interesting. I could sit here all day and gush over how much I love Hollis, but that would keep you from meeting him so I won't. But God, do I want to. I'd love to share all his silliness, all his swooniness, all the quotes that I've got highlighted that made me fall for him, but I'll let you experience all on your own. I'll just leave you with this little tidbit, which is so perfectly Hollis... "Mark my *effing* words, Melony, I am going to woo you so hard, you won't know what hit you."
Oh Bodi Banks... what is there not to love about a persistent, yet romantic and dirty talking man? I absolutely turned into a puddle of goo with the beautiful things that made and the romantic gestures he made toward Melony.
Melony was damaged and didn't realize how worthy she was and I don't their could have been a better man for her than Hollis.
I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I was angered. This book gave me emotional whiplash in all the best ways. This was an incredible series and I really hate to see it come to an end. But, with the end we go a very special treat. We got to see the the demise of Bellini. We were rewarded with a bonus epilogue and it was twisted and hilarious.
Once again this is a standalone that connects with the other two books and I recommend reading them in order.
