Turns out my initial skeptisism was completely unwarranted. By 9pm, DJ Kitty was in beast mode as the rave kicked off in the living room. As the sun came up, DJ Kitty refused to part with the deck. Review elevated to 5 stars. Yes, a bit expensive for carboard, but we are considering selling tickets to the next show to make up the difference.
This would totally be a 5-star review if the cat actually did anything with this. I'll break it down this way: generally, cats like square things, not round. While the visual of a cat spinning vinyl and channeling its inner DJ ("deadca7"?) is aesthetically energizing, my cat won't even lay down on this thing, let alone spin the turntable. We sprinkled a little catnip on it, glued her favorite toy to it, even taped her front paw to it....no luck. Maybe the next product in line from SUCK UK would be a mixing board with busses made out of yarn or something a feline would actually engage. Good effort though.
1.) it's a giant pain in the ass to put together. The tabs barely want to bend, and when they do, you have to be careful not to rip them off.
2.) the top portion, doesn't securely connect to the bottom. When the cat jumps in, it falls off.
3.) it does stay put together On the sides.
I'd say this thing is maybe worth 10.00. Don't waste your money, or your time.
Side note; my cats hate it. They'd rather play with a Costco box.

Anyway. Presented the kittens with it, and bless them they always give everything a go, sometimes out of charity to me, I think. Rafa vanished inside it, then struggled to get out eventually pulling the loosely fitted top off round his tummy. Teddy was simply too big, but he did start throwing the top round the room before I could grab it. These guys are seven month old Maine Coons, so they are destined to be big cats but still about the size of a normal domestic cat currently. Freya and Rafa started their usual scrap with one inside and one outside and the whole thing fell over and got squashed out of shape.
Whole episode was hilarious to watch, but seriously to charge that much for a few pieces of poorly processed cardboard which were based to pieces in seconds is not really on. I plan to weight it down, use some more cellotape, and spray with catnip to see if I can get more longevity out of it. I would not buy another of these items though. You may as well tape a few boxes together, the cats will have equal fun.
Only given a 4 star due to instructions. Suck UK should get a YouTube account and get some videos with audio on it, people would be more inclined to buy one!
Putting this together was hugely frustrating and took me about an hour. I can build an Idea wardrobe in about a quarter of the time it took me to build this and to have it ignored was devastating. I had to eat most of a cheesecake to cheer myself up again.
Came early, and was the easiest to fold together and make.
Sprinkled some catnip onto the keyboard scratch pad and 3 put of 4 of my cats haven't left it alone for about an hour now. That's the longest they've ever played with something. The mouse is hysterical, and perfect for spritzing with catnip spray.
Really sturdy cardboard so I know it's not going to break or get squashed easily.
Would definitely recommend to anyone.
My cat started playing with the bottom part of the tank while I was assembling the top part, however he stopped playing with the tank altogether when I added the top bit, as the opening of it is too small for an average size adult male cat.
I removed the top bit and my cat likes to play in the bottom bit now.
Fantastic quality and build.
Hope in future they bring out more designs ie Lancaster bomber and a battleship
