About Sugoi
For years, hardcore athletes have known that Sugoi makes some of the most hard-working apparel in endurance sports. For over 20 years, the company has been working diligently to make sure it lives up to its name. Sugoi's journey began when David Hollands, a bicycle racer, and Carol Prantner, a fashion student, founded the company in 1987. The upstart originated as a basement operation in the outdoor playground of Vancouver, British Columbia. The initial product consisted merely of bike shorts, made to address the short supply of genuine technical cycling apparel, which all came from Japan or Europe at the time.

These humble shorts contained the genesis of the original Sugoi ethic of innovation and excellence, and soon enough other competitors wanted the shorts too. Sugoi quickly earned an almost cult following among athletes seeking the best-performing, best-looking apparel available.

Twenty years hasn't changed Sugoi's relentless focus on making workouts a great experience, but the company has certainly changed. Today, it has more than 250 employees. Its expansive catalogs now offer hundreds of technical garments and accessories, including underlayers, jackets, shorts, swimsuits, socks, and hats. With distribution throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, Sugoi is truly an international brand.

Ironman winners, world champions, and Olympians--they've all worn Sugoi, and they continually provide the company with flattering feedback on its range of apparel. The people at Sugoi admit that they revel in such praise from the ranks of the elite, but they've always known their success derives from recognizing and serving the needs of their core customer: the committed, everyday athlete.

I just received these, so this review is not based on actual use, but I thought I'd provide some input with regards to SIZING.

I'm 6'2" and at 220lbs, ...roughly 20lbs overweight (when I was competing in 400m in college I had significantly bigger thighs but weighed in at 200lbs being otherwise quite skinny). Current jeans that fit me (Levi's) have size waist 36", inseam 33" (when I can get it, or I wear 34") 'Solid' build in the legs but not huge...
    Calf 45cm or 17.7 inches, thigh 61cm (24 inches)

The size XL fits well, though quite snug around the lower calves/ankles. I hesitated between L/XL since sizing is all over the place in cycling/running gear, and I wanted something not too roomy as it is my goal to work up to a triathlon next year and in the process shave off those extra pounds... It seems to be that even with 20lbs less, I should not go down to size Large.

Bottomline is that for someone with my physique, XL is the size to go with - certainly not smaller! I ordered leg, knee, arm warmers, all in XL and they fit nice and snug, but definitely not too tight.

I hope this helps. The quality looks good. Good luck to y'all.

I have never worn "Man Tights" before however like to run frequently. I'm usually a fair weather runner. Since moving to NYC I decided to get out more in the parks and run during the better part of winter. This was usually 25 - 50 degree weather. These pants combined with a Sugoi mid zero top (and layering under the top) were perfect. I'm about 5'11" and 185 lbs. The L size fit me perfectly. Sugoi makes great running pants. These pants do not have a bottom zipper, however I found that it is not necessary as the pants are well constructed.

I am 5-11, 175. I had to get XL to fit me and they are still pretty tight, which makes them somewhat difficult to put on. I haven't tried to pull them over padded shorts yet. I would try for an even larger size, BUT the legs are so long that the grip band at the end of them is around my instep. Fortunately, that isn't uncomfortable in my biking shoes - don't really notice it.

This is a good product for temps between 45 to the 60's - about what is needed in California. Sizing is always a problem. I'm 6'0", 180 lbs and not of an athletic build. Waist 36". I bought a large. It is just about right, maybe a tad small, but I think XL would be too long. The rise is entirely too short, but since I wear it under bike shorts, that doesn't matter. So if you are about my size, either a large or XL would probably work. You have to tug to get the bottoms over your feet; there's no zipper, just a heavy duty elastic.

I am 5'10, 142 lbs, wear W30L32 Levi's jeans, and size M is a snug fit. S would have been too tight. These tights work great for winter running in north California (32-50F). I also tried them on a road bike (worn over padded Sugoi RSE bib shorts), but apparently the cut of these tights is not meant for the crouched position on road bikes - exposed back and bunching behind the knees. They would still work for bikes with upright position though.

I thought I got the wrong tights when I opened the box. They are tagged S2 but the rear looks different than pictured above. There is no zippered pocket in the rear. No zippers up the legs either. The panels aren't like in the photos. HOWEVER, I just got back from trying them out and they are great! Windy ride for 17 miles and these are great at stopping the wind and keeping you warm. Knees felt good when I was finished. 49 degrees outside. I was afraid they would bunch up behind the knee, and they did just a bit, but nothing that was annoying or caused any discomfort. Well worth the money.

I really like these tights. They fit well and feel of high quality. I like to get the tights like these without the chamois. This way I can run with them or wear them over cycling shorts if I want to ride. Perfect for early morning exercise in the 30s and 40s.

These seemed a bit tight on my lower legs but are otherwise pretty nice. They are definitely warmer than the Pearl Izumi "insulated" cycling bib tights I have. So, when it gets below 50F or so, I wear these over short bibs and my legs are much warmer. I wear the long bibs AND these below 40F and stay pretty toasty.
