Much better quality than what I can find at my local asian grocery store- wood is nearly all smooth ..plus they throw in those extra bonus items (chopsticks, liners, dish). Seems like the box was made as an afterthought for this product as it was too large and hence really taped up to keep the lid down but the steamer inside was all sealed and brand new. Works well, lid is tight, no metal used. Just make sure to air dry it for a day or 2 before putting away. I use this with a steamer ring that fits over a pot which I assume should increase the steamer's longevity.

I've only used this steamer once so far, but I love it. It's very easy to use and very easy to clean up. I was concerned with the thought that it would fill my kitchen with steam, but it didn't. I don't know at this point how durable and long-lasting it will be, but the price is low enough that I'm not too concerned about that. I'm sure I will get my money's worth. And I LOVE the little sauce dishes that came with it!

The steamer arrived in great packaging. Easy pre-use cleaning instructions. You gotta get the metal steamer ring (sold separately) to protect the steamer. I had frozen Chinese ravioli's in the freezer and they were amazing in the steamer - better than when I steamed/fried them in a pan. The bamboo cleaned up very easily (warm, soapy water and let it air dry) and is very sturdy with no splintering. Can't wait to make steamed rolls!

Best kitchen gadget I’ve gotten recently. And it’s not even a “gadget”. Worst thing I can say is the first time you use it, it’s a bit of work with the prepping. After that, smooth sailing! Love to steam veggies in this. I use it at very least once a week. But normally more. And the sauce bowls and chopsticks that come with are beautiful! Absolutely recommend!
