This is listed for use with LED strip lighting, but it is also a fantastic little power supply for Amateur (HAM) radios and other small electronics. The cooling fan makes it especially attractive for use with radio transmitters/transceivers, and the hefty 30-amp capacity is another big plus. Not a big deal, but buyers need to be aware that this unit does not come with an AC power cord.

Using it with a DX70 and the PS never gets even close to hot. If fan comes on I don't know it.
No noise from power supply in DX70 receive either. 30 Amp is prefect for 100 watt transmit plus some.
Love how light it is and the small footprint. Easy to adjust and lock at 13.8 volts.
Can't beat the price. I just hope my honesty in the review doesn't cause the price to go up.

Good little power supply. I'm using it in a hobby capacity and seems to work fine. One thing that has been mentioned casually is that it does not have a power cord. While this is true, a more accurate description would be: It does not accept a standard power cord. This is as it was designed so it is neither a plus or minus.

If you are going to use it in a capacity other than hardwiring it to romex or other in-wall wiring you will need to re-purpose a power cord from something else. It can be any cord with a three prong and three wire configuration. I have attached a photo to show how I wired it up in hopes that those looking to use this as a DC 12volt power supply in a hobby or other capacity will have all available information. There is no documentation at all, but the case is labeled adequately.

The fan is a bit noisy, about twice that of a newer refrigerator I'd say (as I'm currently sitting equidistant from both), otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

I bought two of these to power my ham rigs, one is an Icom 706 100 watt HF rig. So far so good. Adjusts to 13.8 and holds with no sag whatever at full power on the 706. Fan is noisy. If you're bothered by this buy something else. I took it apart to install a switch and LED on the front panel and it looks very well built to me. Small, light and no electrical noise on the HF bands I've tried.

Purchased as a replacement for a lower powered supply that kept going out after a couple weeks... I use this to power led lights (under kitchen cabinet) and pull approximately 8A continuous. Price was good compared to other power supplies out there. The only complaint is the fan, when it cycles on it's a bit too loud. If the supply were mounted inside a cabinet (mine is out of plain sight on the top of a cabinet) the noise would probably not be noticeable. Fan noise is the only reason for the 4-star rating, otherwise it's a 5.

These are made for running LED's, but are great for other projects as well. I use one of these, paired with a 1F capacitor and a 20ah AGM battery to bench test car stereo equipment, and has been running 24/7 for several months without failure/issue. I've adjusted voltage to set at 13.8v and very rarely am I ever able to get it to droop much. For example: I have a higher end car stereo, using RCA's to power up 1000W RMS sub/mono amp and a 4ch (75w RMS per), powering 2 10in ported subs and 4 6x9's. at abount 50% volume the voltage drops to about 13.72, and will drop to 13.5 on the bigger bass notes, neighbors start calling the police for noise levels at 60% on this setup. Granted I'm not pushing amps to max, but this supplies plenty of power for any test bench/garage radio setup you may be planning, and when used with a capacitor/small battery in-line, can power some fairly powerful systems. (although amp may use 50A+ for brief moments, most of the time it's well under 25-28A, and the CAP/battery smooths out the power delivery and allows for higher AMP draw during bass notes).
