Grip: The grip has textured inserts that are extremely gritty, and combined with the finger grooves and thumb groove provide excellent grip. The grip frame is made of steel and the grip facade is (anodized?) aluminum plates and then the rhino liner like gritty inserts. Knife can only be properly held in one position - blade up, edge facing away.
Blade: Chinese steel, but sure to meet the desired contractor's hardness specs. Taylor Brands website shows this blade as 7Cr17 steel which is about 440A SS to us in the US. Blade is thick, and sharp. No nasty machining marks and the coating is perfect. The blade can be opened and locked into position with minimal force, one handed using the thumb assist. When it locks using one hand, you know it, and so does everyone around you. Unlocking the blade is a 2 hand job. There is no way this will ever mistakenly come unlocked. It is tight and solid when locked.
Carry: The carry clip is solid and doesn't protrude out enough that Ive caught it on anything. It is also pretty easy to pull the knife out for use, it doesn't try to pull out your pocket or get hung. Ive carried this about 2 weeks now. The little screws holding the clip on did work loose so I took them out, applied locktite and put them back in. They have not come loose again. The clip also allows the knife to sit low in your pocket so it not too visible. I have not had issue with the seat belt cutter fraying my pocket lip. I have not tested out the seat belt cutter or glass breaker. And its not too heavy for me to carry daily. I'm not everyone else though and don't mind a good size knife for EDC.
Final thoughts: I may buy another as a direct backup to this one. Its not a $100 knife but the quality of what I see in this one exceeds the price I paid for this.

Flips open with ease!
Grips on side keep knife from slipping in your hand when wet.
Seatbelt cutter/window punch
The knife is a bit large and heavy.
Overall you can not get a better knife for the money!
After 3.5 months this has become my favorite knife by far! I work on a boat in the summer and this knife has taken some abuse. It has remained sharp and works as well as it did when I first pulled it out of the package. Sadly I just recently lost my knife. I have just ordered my self a replacement. I LOVE this knife!
