"(Sabre) is a strange combination of street fighter rebel and romantic idealist: James Dean with a cause in a Wonderland Nightmare...A beautifully illustrated book, the fine quality printing highlighting Paul Gulacy's crisp and magnetic black-and-white style. The story is pure, unbridled McGregor...one of the few surviving believers in independent thought and action." -- Howard Zimmerman, ROCK SCENE

"One of the finest comic book stories to come out of 1977...damn fine entertainment." -- Edward Via, THE COMICS JOURNAL --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

All in all a huge disappointment that doesn't do any justice to the original book!
Sabre is like "Master of Kung Fu" (naturally since Paul Gulacy did that too), "Black Panther", "Punisher" and even "Sin City" rolled into one. Intellegent, beautiful, thoughtful and fast. It's a unique comic.
