Misleading picture, not UL certified

When I ordered this, the product was listed and sold on Amazon as a Kinamax AC adapter. I wound up receiving a Sabrent branded adapter. Not meaning to split too many hairs, but there isn't much difference between "Sabrent" and "Kinamax" brand names as they all use a variety of lowest bidder Chinese mass production factories to manufacture inexpensive electronics products that are branded under dozens of different names. Amazon has now updated the product listing to reflect the proper branding.

My main issue with this product, rather, is that this product does not have a UL rating, despite the picture indicating that you'd be getting a UL rated adapter. I understand that getting UL certification is expensive and many products without the rating will operate safely, but I prefer to not take any chances. A lot of property insurance policies have clauses that limits their liability and payout if a fire is caused by non-UL listed device. Not worth the risk for the few bucks saved, in my opinion.

It's a 12V power brick. It works. I suppose that people were worried about certifications etc. I honestly don't think there is any difference considering I've had certified power bricks die and fry on me (xbox one power bricks being a prime example). I use it for an older TV / Monitor. It's been turned on for weeks and the power adapter seems fine. Not sure what more people are looking for with this.

Like another reviewer here, I bought this to use with a PicoPSU-90-XLP 90W 12V DC-DC ATX Green Power Supply . It powers the system I built with no issues except that the power supply gets a little bit warmer than I would like. It's not hot to the touch, you can hold it in your hand, but it's warm. This could mean that it won't last a long time and all that heat is energy wasted in the conversion from AC to DC so it's not as efficient as I would have hoped. My system is drawing around 40W on boot and 30W under normal usage so it's not really stressing the power supply.

You can't beat the price though and it's still more efficient that a large power supply for low-power systems. On the whole I think it's a great buy and I will definitely buy more of these in the future.

I also bought pair of these AC adapters (711onlinestore) - and did not receive the one advertised. Since it was not UL approved, I returned it at Amazon's expense.

I have bought this Kinamax charger in the past and it works well. Unfortunately, most of the merchants are apparently substituting an generic one. Has any one purchased recently and received the Kinamax adapter? If so, from which merchant? Thanks!

Thinking that I might have better luck with another merchant, I bought a pair of these AC adapters from BetterStuff LowerPrice - and again I received generic adapters. Besides not being UL approved, this one is two pronged (or not grounded). If you're looking for a Kinamax adapter, I would order only from Amazon directly. I have never had Amazon substitute a product for something advertised.

Not UL listed and not grounded as pictured

This is pictured as having a 3-prong grounded plug and being UL listed. What I received was neither. The packaging says "Sabrent AD-LCD12 LCD Mon. AC Power Supply", so it isn't that they shipped me the wrong item; instead, they blatantly have the wrong picture for this item.

I've uploaded a picture of the item and the packaging -- see the pictures just to the right at the top of the customer reviews.

While the seller was a 3rd party, the sale was fulfilled by Amazon, which means it shipped from Amazon's warehouse from Amazon's inventory. Thus, I fault Amazon for having invalid information on the product.

I will be returning mine for a full refund. Perhaps Amazon will fix the listing after they get enough returns.

I ordered a set of lights from a seller on ebay and after a week I checked the order and found that what I ordered did not include a power supply, that the item could be ordered separately and I didn't want to wait another 4-5 weeks for it so I did some research and found this one for a really good price and ordered 4 to run more lights that I ordered from Amazon and it turns out that the power supply will run 2 LED strips at the same time with no loss of power. It is perfect and now I have a spare power supply to use for the 5th set of lights which I use for my night club light set up. If you need a power supply that will run 2 strips of LED's then this is the one to purchase.

Bought 3 of these to use as 12V power supplies where I needed more Amps than the typical supply that only outputs a few Amps. I checked the circuit board and found it well made (many are cheap/sloppy). It works well at 6 Amps but can also handle surges up to 7 Amps. It does have the typical interference damper (that round donut on the output cord) but like most power supplies does not clean up the electrical noise from the incoming 120 VAC; so if you have a very erratic (fluctuating voltage) AC power coming into it, it will improve it it but not make it perfect. In summary this is as good or better than most other 12V 5/6Amp external power supplies... but it costs a lot less. It's such a great deal that I bought 4 more today.
