Edit 2: Now that I've used this item for several months, I've found it to be the perfect solution for my needs. I use it in my Home Theater system plugged into a Raspberry Pi to provide plenty of USB ports as well as excellent charging capability. The USB ports on the Raspberry dont provide very much power, so using this self powered hub I am able to plug devices into the Raspberry without worrying about power.

So far so good. No problems. I like the way it sides up vertically. I love that you can plug in so many in the back so you don't have cords bulging out and messy in the front. The front is great because you can use those for temporary charging or downloading. You need to know the difference in the plug-ins because they are very hard to see with the naked eye. But, once you memorize which is for charging and which are for up/down loading, you are good to go. Would I buy again...yes. I've only had 3 months, but so far very satisfied

I originally purchased a EasyAcc® 7-port Superspeed USB 3.0 Hub, and just before it shipped, I came across this Sabrent hub. I tried to cancel the order for the other, but it was too late, and I had to wait for it to be delivered to return it.

Why all the drama? Because THIS one has two more ports than the EasyAcc, but more importantly, it comes in an ultra-compact size! I could tell it was smaller by the photographs, but not until I actually had it in my hands did I see just how tiny it is. It's perfect!

The Sabrent seems to be well-made, and I appreciate the corded power supply -- it's easier to plug in than the typical "wall-wart" style power adapter. This unit can lay flat, or stand upright with the included snap-in stand. I quickly found that the vertical orientation doesn't work -- anything you have plugged into the back will pull it over. But laying flat is just fine. The cool thing about the vertical orientation is that the mounting stand comes with screws to allow you to attach it to the desk or a wall, so I can see that coming in handy for single-handed use.

Overall, for the price, you get a GREAT value -- seven ports with two more for charging in a compact size is tough to beat.

fails with too many devices connected

The hub seems to have problems when too many devices are connected. I initially had a keyboard, webcam, mouse, and trackball connected, and everything worked fine. When I added an HTC Vive, the webcam stopped working. If I unplugged any of the other devices, not just the Vive, the webcam would work fine. I'd suspect insufficient power, but its power source seems plenty beefy, and the Vive doesn't really draw power - it has its own power brick. So I suspect a problem with the hub's hardware or firmware managing that many connected devices. (Note that this would have more to do with logical devices than physical devices, and the Vive has MANY logical devices embedded in it.) I did once get an error in Windows about "not enough USB controller resources" but sometimes I'd have problems in spite of no error.

In any event, I've switched to a Belkin USB 2.0 hub (since none of these devices require USB 3.0 speed) and everything is working fine together, so it definitely seems to be an issue with this hub.

Its working fine on my MacBook Pro but its not a great charger hub.
None of the ports would accept my CD/DVD burner drive. The 2 charge ports only charge and do not connect to the USB bus.
Also once you put the base stand on, you cant really get it off! Kind of annoying as I was just testing it to see how it would look and now its stuck.
The blue LED ON light is bright and annoying so I covered it with black tape.

At this price, I expected more, especially from the non charge ports.

Great hub in a compact form. The charging ports are a bonus. This replaces a multi-port hub that was much larger. Right now I have it attached to the back of my main screen with Command strips. I have the power to a DisplayPort adaptor for my 2nd monitor, a USB 3rd monitor, a 2T external hard drive, a portable scanner and a 256 flash drive plugged into it, all working well, as well as bluetooth adaptors for peripherals. I'm only sorry I hesitated a couple weeks before purchasing it.

Overview:
Was running out of USB ports so obviously opted to get a USB hub. Instead of getting a regular 4 port hub, I figured I might as well future proof and get a 7 port one. This hub happened to have 7 ports with 2 additional charging ports and a power adapter to provide necessary power to the USBs.

What I liked:
+Good value and had good reviews
+2 extra ports for charging my phone. I have a Galaxy S5 and have the standard 5.3V 2.0A charger. The hub charging port charges slightly slower than this. According to a battery app, the S5 charger will charge around 60% an hour and the port would charge around 40% an hour.
+Small in size. Doesn't take up much space using the stand and is surprisingly stable when using the stand. The base is about 7.5cm x 4.5cm and height of about 9.5cm
+5 USB ports in the back and 2 ports in front plus the two charging ports in front is a great design for me.

What I don't like:
-Not a big deal but keeping the power adapter plugged in will light the blue LED that is in front of the hub. It isn't too bright but it's noticeable in the dark. Can easily cover up the LED but it isn't a huge bother to me and I rather like that the LED is blue. My desktop is blue/black and fits the theme.
-The power adapter is rather large. It'll block me from using another outlet on my surge protector. It definitely needs to be used on one of the ends of a surge protector.

I would definitely purchase this again. Granted, I've only been using it for a week, but it has been working fine and well enough that I think it deserves a chance.
