Travel USB Charger - A convenient travel companion
AX-UCFW is a convenient travel companion to accommodate your charging need on the road with the ability to charge multiple USB devices at once from one wall socket. With the foldable and wall mount design, it is easy to use and then tuck away while traveling. The unit is compatible with almost all USB devices that can be charged via USB ports in the market.
The idea of charging different devices with different charging units is now a history with this Sabrent charging station with a built-in smart chip that controls the current and flow into your iPad. The built-in over current protection ensures that your devices are protected against possible overflow of the current that could damage devices.
The charging station has 4 USB ports with Port 1 specifically designed to allow up to 2.4A at maximum 12.5W if necessary. Please note that a single device can take up the entire available 12.5W by itself. The unit will automatically balance out various devices connected at the full load rating of 12.5W.

The package opened easily, and I was so happy to find that there was nothing inside that required a pair of scissors or a box-cutter to open. I'm worn out with that kind of packaging.
The entirely of the directions are those printed on the box. That's fine, because there's not much to know. It's a charging station, and it charges stuff. One important fact, printed clearly in the text, is that the total output of the charging current is limited to 2.5 amperes. That's shared by all four ports. That means that if you have (like I do) an iPad3, you've maxed out the charger with that single device. Forewarned is forearmed. You could probably easily charge four phones at once, though. But basically, it's 2.5 amps, for a total of 12.5 watts for a full load.
A minor criticism is that I think it is probably larger than it needs to be. Maybe that's some kind of design feature, making it more attractive. But either way, it does not detract from its usability. It is foldable, and ideal for travel in that sense. I still think smaller would have been better. Speaking of travel, there is no indication on the box if the device can handle the full 100v - 240v range of electricity. And no plug adapters are provided to enable you to plug it into the wide variety of international sockets.
As an interesting note, this morning the power supply for my Magic Jack Plus went to dog heaven. I went to get the Sabrent charger, stuck it into the outlet strip on the floor, and plug the Magic Jack into it. Works great.
PS: I received a sample in exchange for a scrupulously honest review.
First Review-Piece of junk like almost all reviews in the last 6 months....worked for a few months but isn't working now so don't waste your money!
--> UPDATE <--
Sabrent was very nice and quickly sent me a replacement unit at no charge. I've decided to try this new one in an environment with less cable-swapping, and therefore less chance of damaging the solder connections. Let me stress that this is a very handy device to have, with four (!) charging ports, one of them marked at 2.4 amps. I haven't tested whether or not having multiple devices plugged in and charging changes the overall current, or if they all go at max all the time. Will provide further updates as time passes.
--> UPDATE #2 <--
As promised, I put the replacement multi-charger in a place where it wouldn't get moved around as much (my office @ work). Works like a CHARM. No looseness, not connection issues. I believe that in the right situation, this charger will solve your power requirements. A good product, and prompt COURTEOUS customer service. Couldn't be happier!
I opened the charger up and found out the inside was melted ( the plastic housing that holds the USB connectors ). Either it was over heated or it got short!
