Editorial Reviews

Sabrina, The Teenage Witch: The First Season Pretty teen witch Sabrina Spellman (Melissa Joan Hart) lives with her two otherworldly aunts, Hilda (Caroline Rhea) and Zelda (Beth Broderick), along with Salem, their talking black cat (voice of Nick Bakay). The Witches Council long ago ordered her aunts to teach Sabrina witchcraft once she turned sixteen. Now she can be in Paris for lunch... and make it back in time for biology! The show that found its way into the hearts of millions of viewers each week brilliantly combines the supernatural world of magic with the average life of a teenage girl. Sabrina, The Teenage Witch: The Second Season Sabrina is maturing into a responsible young woman. And there is so much more to learn as she trains for her witch's license with her new Quizmaster (Almi Ballard). Season Two highlights include special Christmas and Valentine's Day episodes, and even a trip to the Walt Disney World theme park! Enjoy all the magic moments of Sabrina, The Teenage Witch! Sabrina, The Teenage Witch: The Third Season Doesn't every girl secretly wish she had magical powers? But there's a catch! Before she can use it she must uncover a family secret, with help from her wacky Aunt Hilda, wise Aunt Zelda, and her talking cat Salem. And while they may advise her to keep her magic hidden, at school Sabrina still helps cute steady Harvey (Nate Richert) and best friend Valerie (Lindsay Sloane), while protecting herself against rival Libby (Jenna Leigh Green) and mean Mr. Kraft(Martin Mull). Sabrina, The Teenage Witch: The Fourth Season This year Sabrina turns eighteen, only to discover she must now mentor another teen witch, Dreama (China Shavers). Also, newly promoted Principal Kraft (Martin Mull) is still dating Aunt Zelda, much to the chagrin of Aunt Hilda, who this season buys a magic clock shop. But with her boyfriend Harvey, her talking car Salem, and her new boss Josh (David Lascher) in her corner, this popular teen always saves the day! Highlights include Sabrina and Harvey's prom, plus a season-end twist you won't believe. The magic never ends on Sabrina, The Teenage Witch! Sabrina, The Teenage Witch: Season Five Sabrina's enrolled in college in Boston, where she discovers just how hard it is juggling school, romance, and three new roommates: straight-talking Roxie (Soleil Moon Frye, TV's Punky Brewster), resident advisor (Eliza Donovan), and science geek Miles (Trevor Lissauer). Still working at the coffeehouse with her secret crush Josh, Sabrina is surprised when Aunt Hilda decides to buy the popular establishment. And since Aunt Zelda now teaches at Sabrina's college, talking cat Salem is able to conjure up even more outrageous schemes! Sabrina, The Teenage Witch: The Sixth Season As Sabrina continues her studies at Adams College in Boston, she also works on a city newspaper, along with josh, her new boyfriend. Yet she still has to keep her magic powers a secret from her roommates: Miles, Roxie, and Morgan, who now dates Sabrina's former crush Harvey. And while Zelda is stuck trying to control their mischievous cat Salem, her sister Hilda shocks everyone when she gets married. Sabrina, The Teenage Witch: The Final Season Now that Sabrina is no longer a teenage witch, her aunts decide to move back to the other Realm. Yet Sabrina still needs to keep her magic powers in check as she and gal pals Roxie and Morgan move back into the aunts' old Victorian house. Meanwhile, Sabrina has landed a job as a writer for the hip music magazine Scorch, where she meets her future fianc, Aaron. But with her former crush Harvey being egged on by mischievous cat Salem, who knows which guy Sabrina will choose?

All seven seasons of SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH are included in this bundle pack. I won't go into an in-depth analysis of each season (I have reviewed most seasons individually so you can check those out at your leisure), but needless to say if you've yet to buy this show, this is the probably the best one-click way to do so.

Melissa Joan Hart's infectious screen persona and charm elevates this sweet little sitcom far beyond anything you'd expect from a series that circles around the day-to-day life of a teenage witch and all the baggage that goes along with it. Based loosely on the Archie Comics franchise (with a slight nod to "Bewitched"), SABRINA... effortlessly mixed teen angst and magical mayhem. The early seasons in particular were marked by clever writing and snappy dialogue. Only when Sabrina moved to college in the fifth season did the well start to run dry.

The best years of SABRINA, in my opinion, were Seasons Two and Three. In addition to the imaginative story arcs (Sabrina studying for her Witches' License and tracking down the oft-fabled Family Secret), there's also the unique chemistry which Ms Hart shared with her co-star Lindsay Sloane, who plays Sabrina's best friend Valerie. "Friend" characters in SABRINA didn't tend to last all that long (and got written out with very little fanfare or explanation - Jenny from Season One for example) but Valerie was the best of the bunch. Jenna Leigh Green, playing Sabrina's snotty arch-rival Libby for the first three seasons, was another highlight.

Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick are Sabrina's wacky aunts Hilda and Zelda; Nick Bakay is the voice of scheming feline Salem. Nate Richert is dreamy boyfriend Harvey; and "Punky Brewster" herself--Soleil Moon Frye--is introduced as Roxie in the college years.

A wise buy for those who've waited for the full series.

I love this show I always have.

However for the price alone and the many MANY issues ive heard about this box set I cant in all good conscience give it 5 stars.

The fact that they took a show that so many of us grew up with and loved and tarnished it by cutting scenes replacing music and even shortening episodes is ridiculous.

This was a slap in the face to the fans of this series .

The music regardless of the greedy copyright issues so many of these dvds have nowadays was part of the shows charm.

For example in the 90's there was so much good music on Sabrina from ChumbaWumba Backstreet Boys Nsync Robyn etc..

By getting rid of all those nostalgic and enjoyable songs it destroys the scenes that those songs originally were a part of.

Who wants to listen too generic music in the place of classic 90's songs?

The fact that they cut scenes out was wrong and greedy enough as it was but to also shorten episodes themselves was even worse.

I still love the Christmas episodes but this ruined my feeling like I could finally own this set and hear Johnny Mathis sing in that one Christmas episode ive always loved.

I think this dvd set is a disaster personally more power to the ones who purchased it not knocking any of you.

Just simply tired of these greedy companies always giving the fans the shaft when it comes to releasing tv shows.

There always seems to be issues or cuts or edits which ruins the integrity of the original shows .

Firstly: we noticed that some of the DVD's have been printed incorrectly, we have to insert each DVD into the player to find which one is which. For example disk two series two is printed as disk two series six. There are about four DVD's like this. VERY annoying.

Secondly: We love the show, the first three series are the best, but it's always good to get the box set.

I have bought this set and at least 1 disk per season has either not worked at all, only worked on a computer or partially worked on computer/player. I've had to replace 4 seasons and noticed a difference in the disks of those sets compared to the disks in the complete set. it might seem to cost more getting each season individually but it costs a lot more when replacing those seasons that Don't work

I love Sabrina, and this was a gamble purchase being that other reviews indicated some disks/episodes wouldn't play. I didn't have any issues. Love the series, but miss the aunts at the end of the series.

I've always been a fan of Melissa Joan Hart ever since I was a kid watching Clarissa: Explains It All. I think this is a great show. I honestly remember watching it back on ABC TGIF line-up. So glad I got this when this set was on sale. This show is really funny. It also got me to love black kitty's because of Salem. The only things I didn't like of course was when they replaced Jenny with Valerie (who I found to be super annoying), and Sabrina's aunts MIA in Season 7. I felt they should have been in that season besides the brief cameo at the finale where Aunt Zelda appeared as a candle. Speaking of the finale, the biggest crush to me was that they replaced No Doubt's 'Running' with some stupid song. 'Running' was the perfect song to use. I can't believe they didn't get the copyrights to release that with the DVDs. Overall a great show, and a show that is perfect for the whole family. So happy to add this to my collection. First time it was shipped, discs and DVD boxes were damaged, however Amazon sent a replacement that was perfect. No defective discs or boxes.
