Book 1: Kyle is a centuries old vampire who saves Sabrina from being attacked by two men. Sabrina is a young woman in her 20's who has heard of vampires but never met one and didn't know anyone who had. Kyle brings her home, something he never had done in his very long life. In the coming days they both found themselves feeling things they had never felt before. Sabrina found herself doing things she had never done before. Finally, Kyle calls his sire because he has no idea what's going on. In this call he finds out Sabrina is his mate. The rest...well, let's just say I love Kyle and Sabrina and will be starting book two. If you got this book alone, I highly recommend you buy the three book set because you'll want to start book two a.s.a.p!
Assassin Book 2: OMG! As much as I LOVED book one, book two is even better! The love between Sabrina and Kyle is too much for them both to handle at times and neither thought they would ever find such love. Especially Kyle who has lived for so many years all alone with women that he would spend limited amounts of time with, never taking to his home or even having a conversation with. I end up feeling bad for Kyle when he talks about his past and things like never having a real conversation with another person in all his many years. As for Sabrina, she talks about how she loves Kyle so much that it hurts sometimes. When Kyle tells Sabrina that he is an assassin, he's afraid of how she's going to take it, especially since she is a former law enforcement officer. After thinking about it, not only does Sabrina remember that she can't live without Kyle she also realizes that there are people who got away when she was working in law enforcement that got away that she knew were guilty and had she been able to get away with it, she would have killed some of them. So Kyle and Sabrina take off so that Kyle can complete his newest job. All goes well. Until the end when Kyle gets a call from a FBI contact telling him Sabrina is in danger due to a case that Kyle had done last year. It took me about 24 hours to read this book, it was so good. Now I'm going to start book three, Hunted, and I can't wait to see how it ends up.
Hunted Book 3: This was better than books one and two and books one and two were great. At the end of Assassin we find out that someone from Kyle's past is hunting Sabrina. Well, early on in the book we find out that it's not just anyone it's a vampire. A psychotic vampire. A vampire who is evidently very old, even older than Kyle we eventually learn, and the only one who is powerful enough to stop him is Kyle's sire, Boyd. This book had me feeling all the feels. Kyle makes the mistake of trying to keep this from Sabrina while protecting her. When Kyle starts doing odd things, Sabrina's cop instinct kicks in and she knows he's lying to her. That doesn't go over well and after a bit Kyle tells her the truth. My only problem was with Ava's author's note. It said something like I hope you have enjoyed reading Sabrina and Kyle's story. I'm partly afraid that means this is the end of the books in this series, but then I think of the characters there can be some new books about, and there are many! There are three that come to mind immediately: Boyd and the witch who is probably his mate, the story of Josef, Gabe, their three way bonding with Peri, and Peri's pregnancy and the baby once he or she is born, and the story of how the wolf does managing Kyle's club. Maybe he can find his mate. So many possibilities and I hope Ava explores at least one! I simply love Sabrina, Kyle, and their love story!
Book 1---The first thought that seem to come to my mind was Damn that was hot. I kept thinking are they ever going to get out of the bedroom. It would be wonderful to have passion like that for your mate. Took her long enough to decide what she wanted...
Book 2--- Learning the life of your mate can be surprising and when we find out what Kyle does, I am not sure I would take it as well as she did. Still can't keep their hands off each other. Wonder what it would be like to have the need and passion for centuries. Loved this book too.
Book 3--- This book had more interesting drama than the rest, I believe. It kept me engaged through the whole thing. I always hate it when the bad guys always seem one step ahead of the good guys..Boyd makes me smile a little, I think he might be a little more anal that Josef..But would his life change like Josef's did if he found a mate. I would sure love to find out.
Until Next Time... Tabi
Several of Ms. Michaels' series caught and held my attention, The Black Rose Chronicles (my favorite), Supernatural Enforcement Bureau and The Witch, the Wolf and the Vampire which I LOVED and ENJOYED immensely.
The Witch, the Wolf and the Vampire made mention of Sabrina and her mate Kyle so I thought I would purchase it as I enjoyed the other series so very much.
Well, Sabrina's Vampire was a struggle for me to finish but I did after skipping over page, after page, after page and discovered I didn’t like Sabrina's Vampire at all. I’m not a prude. I read and enjoy many novels which contain sex scenes all the time but sometimes too much becomes boring really fast, hence the skipping of pages. I also didn't care for Kyle’s reading Sabrina’s mind and his decision to control her if necessary.
>I am an independent reviewer. This set contains three books in the series and ends in an HEA. Kyle is unusually attracted to the human, Sabrina. This story is very erotic with a touch of suspense. The eroticism actually became a little repetitious after a while. If the suspense was described more, with more scenes of danger to Sabrina and Kyle going all alpha vampire, the romance would have been a welcome relief instead of being dull.
>There is some cross plot with Peri, Gabe and Joseph from the Wolf, the Witch and the Vampire, which was fun to read. The character of cook (Anna) was colorful and quirky. The story was good, but for some reason the romantic pull between Kyle and Sabrina was weak for me. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 4 stars.
I love the characters. Sabrina being the lead female and Kyle the lead male. After some trouble at work, Sabrina finds herself in a whole lot of trouble in Las Vegas. Kyle just so happened to hear a damsel in distress and rescues her. That brief moment will change their life forever.
Book 2 starts about six months after book 1 ends, and book 3 starts right where book 2 leaves off.
Compared to the author's other series, this has a bit of an erotica theme. I don't care much for erotica, but the rest of it I really enjoyed. Book 3 doesn't have quite as much of erotica theme as the first two books.
