Estelle lost her dad and after he died she moved back home and continued to do their full moon submerge. She always felt closer to her father when she did that. She has always felt better closer at sea and could not get enough of the water. When she goes for a swim one night, she meets a Sachael that swims with her only to find out that he will come to her in her dreams. She learns as much as she can about Sachael's and when she is told it's not safe for her, she doesn't realize how true that is until she is taken.
Azariah has been waiting for the right woman to come along. He felt so lonely and when he sees Estelle doing the submerge the first time, he couldn't stay away. He watched her for months before he finally found a shell for her. When he goes into the water to swim with her, he decides to let her know who and what he is. The more time he spends with her, the more he wants to be with her. He isn't like all the other Sachael's and he doesn't approve of what they do. So he teaches Estelle everything he can but when she is taken, that is when their connection is put to the test.
This book is about Sachael angels or water angels. It's hard to accept what Sachael's really do but now you have a Sachael that doesn't want to take part of what they are to do. You'll get lost into the story and want to see how Estelle & Azariah get through everything but it's just needs more. Overall it was a good story and different.

Estelle has always known she is different. Just not how different! She can breathe underwater and has always done a submergence ritual on the night of every full moon. She had promised her father after all. Now that he is dead it seems even more important. Who is the man that swam with her under the full moon? Is he somehow like her? What does he want from her? Why is he invading her dreams? How is he invading her dreams?
Azariah is drawn to Estelle as to no other. He feels something for her that Sachaels are not meant to feel. Unable to leave her alone he starts to court her... Knowing full well he will have to lie about it and his their true relationship from his people. Why is she so different form every other woman on land? What allows her to resist him and break away from his sway? How will he find a way for them to he together always?
***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy modern paranormal romance coming of age stories fraught with intrigue, mystery, action, adventure and a dash or two of horror :)
The premise of this story reminded me of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale in that the Sachaels treat women as property used for reproductive purposes. It’s repulsive, infuriating, and yet, completely fascinating. I’d imagine the author grappled with this plot line once or twice, given the misogynist Sachael traditions, but the author also gave us a heroine to root for, who was born to break the mold.
The writing is gorgeous, the story is dark and intriguing, and the characters are certainly complex. Well done on an excellent debut. ☺
I adore the characters, and the main idea of the book as whole is great. I am highly looking forward to reading the next book Sachael Desires. I really think you guys should pick up this book and put it on your reading list. I am planning on putting this book set on my list to collect the paperback copies, I loved it so much.
I think having this book in my library at home would really be awesome.
The author does a great job on details and emotions, the character are written in such a beautiful manner.
So why don't you guys check out this book, Sachael Desires here I come.
(I received this in exchange for an honest review)
I flew through the second half of the book, unable to put it down until I finished. I want the second one to be out already!
If you love romance and a character with flaws and strengths trying to figure out life and wounds and love, then this book is a must read! Oh yeah, and hot ocean guys.
Even at the end, I found myself questioning what was real and what wasn't. And characters you want to hate, you don't. I want to know more, and find out what's really true and what's all a lie.
So now, I'll have to fall asleep with a sea shell on my bedside table.
