This book is beautifully written. The simple practice of growing a garden with purpose and respect for the spirit of nature from the prospective of many belief systems is remarkable. No wonder the fruits of her labor are so lush. This book is an experience itself. Wonderful images and examples. I love the labyrinth and medicine wheel gardens. The author understands the interrelationship of the gardener and mother nature. She guides you to build a garden and makes that process a form of meditation.
I bought this book to assist me with having a healthy and happy vegetable patch but it brought more with it, it helped me design a gorgeous garden that not only bears great vegetables but it is wonderful to look at and brings the whole garden together.
While there is quite a bit of useful information, those readers who are not used to invoking spirits, chakras etc etc will find it overwhelming in it's effusiveness. I love gardening. I teach Permaculture and biodiversity. I have a deep respect for Mother Nature, I just find this lady's writing too much to read. I will be teaching on medicine wheels, geometric gardens, labyrinths etc. next Spring, which is why I bought the book, it's one of very few on this subject.
