I was looking for ideas for a way to incorporate Sanskrit script into a tattoo, and was leery about trusting just any information I found on the web. A friend and fellow Yogini recommended this book, so I ordered it.
It was extremely helpful in providing the symbols and meanings of many Sanskrit words and phrases. I was able to use it not only to choose, but also as a guide for the artist to accurately draw the symbols I chose.

this is a very well crafted book. it is 200 plus pages length. it contains many of the basic sanskrit words, written in both sanskrit and english translations. this is an outstanding general text for especially those with an interest in yoga or spiritual traditions. this is not a scholarly text. for the price, i found it a delightful read and useful as a book for periodic review.

It's a bit short, nothing you could call a textbook, but it does have some interesting things here and there.
Again, nothing serious, just a thin book to learn some of the key words that you're bound to run into time and time again, if you're familiar with yogas - vedas - Hindu culture in general.

Purchased this book to further my yoga studies and so glad I did! It has been the jumping-off point for many side studies and provides great begining point to understanding yoga in general. Would def recommend it for the lay person. Easy reading and simply stated. Love it!

Interesting

This book is written in a very clear and organized way and it is easy to understand even for people who have no prior knowledge of Sanskrit. It is, however limited on Sanskrit words used in Yoga and therefore not the right thing for someone who is looking for a book that includes also terms outside of this area.
Gives alot of insight into the life philosophies of Yoga as well and includes Mantras for daily meditation.

très basique

c'est vraiment du basique, ce ne sont que les termes connus et très courants, j'espérais trouver des mots plus rares...
par contre l'impression et la présentation sont agréables
