From the Author
You are a fan of classic literature, so I have to wonder: Is there a hidden homage to a favorite book or author in Sacrificed?
Emily: Well, the entire inspiration for Clio and her powers was drawn from Cassandra, the prophet in Greek mythology. While Cassandra is given the power to foresee the future, she is cursed to have no one believe her. This often drives her mad, and worse, she's unable to prevent even her own murder. I kept stumbling across her in different Greek texts, and each time I wondered what it would be like if this tragic figure was replaced by someone empowered.
