This unusual bag draws inspiration from the dry bags Saddleback President and designer Dave Munson used on various white water rafting adventures down Oregon's Deschutes River. From these aquatic origins comes a design that is a case study in simplicity, versatility, and strength. It's made using a single piece of full-grain leather, which results in a large bag with only two seams (seams are the weakest part of a bag). It can be rolled up and sealed or filled to capacity and carried openly. It can be shut with three straps or just one. You can stick long tubes and tripods out of it while it's closed. There is a built-in handle and a removable/movable one so you can carry it in different ways based on the situation. It even has high and low positions for the shoulder strap based on how full it is. Comes with a short and tall stiff insert if you want to use them. Our Waterbag is what happens when a creative guy has three years to perfect a piece of luggage. We cut the nasty looking marks out and throw them away. The cool or insignificant marks we leave. Because of natural oils, shade may vary. Logo may vary from what is shown. Covered by a 100-year warranty.

Was it worth the money? YES! Considering that this is going to be a bag for life and it will get better as it gets more use, and it has a 100 year warranty, the money question will quickly leave your guilty pleasure reservoir once you've had it for a month or so. Then the pain of the purchase should dissipate!
I think Tobacco is my favorite color, followed by Dark Coffee Brown. The "color chart" on the FAQ section of the SBL website is pretty darn accurate.
