About the Author
Jayelle Cochran is an independent author and artist living in San Diego. As a military wife and mother of two special needs children, finding time to write and publish her novels can prove to be a challenge at times. According to Jayelle, there are two things a writer needs if they wish to make it into a career: Perseverance and Dedication, and she has both in full supply.
Jayelle's writing primarily consists of Urban Fantasy, though she has plans for a post-apocalyptic scifi series for the future. Currently, she is focusing on the Supernatural Uprising series of novels. After the 4th novel for the Supernatural Uprising has been written, then the second series will begin and the two will be written in tandem.
Her blog, Jayelle's Musings, illustrates what goes into self-publishing her novels as well as antidotes about her writing, artwork, and life. Her artwork consists of charcoal drawings, oil paintings, and photo manipulation. She also creates beautiful novel covers for her own books, and offers this service to her fellow authors.

Multiple wars rage simultaneously. The war inside Sadie as she battles her past trying to make it fit with what is going on with her present while she is swept up in the beginning war of the supernatural vs. the government.
I enjoyed the strange, intriguing, and original dialogue that makes sense as an understandable futuristic language with a streetwise vocabulary full of swearing and fun twists of word use. It puts you right in the scene, making the situations feel alive and real. It is more fun because Sadie, the protagonist who is in many ways a true innocent, is often confused by the way her new friends talk.
You are going to love the cast characters who are flawed, rough edged, sometimes foolish yet always full of support and love. They hold steadfast to supporting what really counts while struggling to make life work in a world gone just a bit mad all around them.
The author promises that this is the beginning of a series about the war between paranormals and a corrupt fearful government.
I hope she fulfills her promise!
A blind traumatized girl becomes the catalyst for a revolution.
Abandoned by her parents, Sadie never knew kindness without first paying a terrifying price. That all changes when she meets Fester, a young man with his own painful past. After he saves her from freezing to death, Sadie realizes that she must learn to trust another if she wants to live.
The government has hunted supernaturals for too long and now a civil war is brewing. Sadie finds herself hunted after using her own supernatural power against an attacker. To survive she has to team up with a criminal who will ignite the war.
Thanks Jayelle for the great read.
