Product Description

Product Description

Kronosaurus was a huge, powerful meat-eater that lived in the shallow seas that flooded parts of what is now Australia during the Cretaceous Period. It is not a dinosaur, but instead is one of the most massive known plesiosaurs - a group of seagoing reptiles that includes both long- and short-necked species. The immense head of Kronosaurus was over eight feet (2.4 meters) long, about one-quarter of the creature's total length. This head was much longer than that of the biggest known meat-eating dinosaurs, such as Giganotosaurus and Tyrannosaurus rex. A maneuverable swimmer, Kronosaurus fed on other marine reptiles, fishes, and aquatic invertebrates. For over 25 years, Safari Ltd. has been proud to provide this premier line of scale model, dinosaur collectibles. These award winning dinosaur replicas are authenticated by the paleontologists of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, who houses the largest collection of dinosaur fossils in the world. Each Carnegie dinosaur can have up to 25 steps of hand painting to ensure the highest quality in the world marketplace.

Everywhere my daughter carries this cronosaur toy, she attracts the envy of little kids her age. Particularly the little boys, they eye it and I can see them pointing it our to their moms! Their little hands reach out. We can see they really want to touch it.
It is very well made, solid, great lifelike detail but no sharp edges and so unusual looking and a great bargain for a realistic dinosaur toy. She takes it into the shower and bathtub!

After seeing the DVD Chased by Sea Monsters, my son was all about the sea creatures from the dinosaur age. There aren't too many of these creatures available in toy form and Kronosaurus fit the bill perfectly.
He's made of the usual hard plastic and stands up to play. He's also pretty large and comes to almost a foot long. "Dino-Kids" will have fun with this guy in out of of the tub for quite a while! Recommended

1:30 scale makes this toy bigger, which is nice if it is the only one you are purchasing, but if you want a set of undersea creatures, they should all be the same scale, especially from the same makers. I bought elasmosaurus and kronosaurus and elasmosaurus is at 1:40, whereas Kronosaurus is at 1:30, so it is too big, relative to my other one. Also, the detail seems less compared to the smaller elasmosaurus. By itself though, it is a great toy: solid and durable. My future children will love it, but it's mine for now!

Bought it for my 4.5 year old and it's just perfect. He does not let it wander too far and goes to bed with it. What more can you say. Does not have the same detail as a Papo but that shows in the price. Shipping was great as well.

This is a very well made toy; it is not at all fragile, but is very realistic looking, making it the perfect toy for dinosaur-loving children. This Kronosaurus was one I have been wanting to get for quite some time, and I am very pleased with my purchase.

I bought this and several other dinos for my 3 year old son after he became obsessed with the "Walking With Dinosaurs" movies. He really wanted a lipluridon, this was the closest I could come. He LOVES it! Plays with them everyday and has learned a lot about carnivores, herbivores and extinction. This is an excellent teaching toy.

My son is a paleontologist in the making and finding "dinosaurs" of the sea is no easy task. (Yeah, I know, this is a reptile not a dinosaur.) This is a large, fabulous toy. Call it a Kronosaurus or Mosasaur, it's all good and he was thrilled.
