The nightstand is beautiful, the surface has more of a lacquer finish, shiny with wood patterns. Each drawer comes with a velvet liner on the bottom. It comes mostly assembled, except for the 4 legs.
We bought 2, one of them is slightly damaged (shipping box is fine), but acceptable. One side panel is a little off and the edges are a little scuffed up. We would not have accepted it if it's delivered by an actual store with delivery services. Returning it will take too much energy so we decided to keep it. However, the other one came completely damaged. The side panel is not even attached to the bottom of the nightstand. Amazon does offer free pick-up, but not sure how are we going to re-package this. And not sure if the replacement will be acceptable. The product (not damaged) is worth the money, but buyers beware, it's all luck at this point. We are hoping our replacement will be acceptable.
