Having spent over 20 years working in the financial services industry, I found this book to be a refreshing new perspective on retirement planning. It was well organized with all the right topics. I loved the way the author personalized things, and made the reader feel like even the experts can struggle with many of the same issues that you do. It was like talking to a friend that has gone through it and getting the advice of his experience. I liked the simple to follow steps and check lists to getting started or staying on track.
While proper planning is repeatedly emphisized, he also examined the reality of things. If you have not done enough, it reflect on what you can do now. I also thought the fact that this was not all about the numbers and financial stuff was fantastic. I especially liked the way he addressed the spirituality as a key component to a happy life. Regardless of your religious beliefs, having hope and belief in life and why you are on this earth provides great dividends, and that is what Jack focuses on.
Again, a great read, and I look forward to his next book.
