By using it on an ongoing basis, I have been able to keep caterpillars at bay. I think of it every time I see white moths flitting around my garden. I try to catch those when I can but if I am too late, I know that this product will keep my plants from being damaged.
I don't like the replacement product that Safer has come out with so if they stop making this version altogether, I will have to find another brand to use in the future.
This liquid form did work but note that the process required an application about every ten days for more than two months to get rid of all the worms. We gather that this formula does not attack eggs in the soil, so all of the worms had to hatch and actually ingest the product before it becomes completely effective.
Decided to try this product so when I saw the tell tale signs of caterpillar poop on the ground and leaves the other morning and found several medium sized caterpillars munching away I picked them off and then mixed 3 teaspoons of this concentrate in my 1 1/2 gallon pump up spayer and sprayed down the plants. After spraying the plants were wet but I was unsure whether any product was on the plants. In the past when I would dust there was no question as to if I had applied enough BT since you could see the powder. When I came home that evening I found two more caterpillars and again thought I had found them all but was still worried about whether I had enough (if any) BT on the plants so I sprayed one more time.
When I went out this morning to look around I was simply amazed to see many dead/dying caterpillars hanging from my plants. Those buggers can really hide from my older vision I suppose, but the BT nailed em' dead as a hammer. Was an awesome sight to see. Very very pleased with this product and am happy I don't have to do the 'search and destroy' routine every day when I come home and can rest easy that my maters' are safe and sound.
Plus of course there is the non-toxic benefit of this product and won't kill bees like Seven dust can.
