being a new mom I didn't want to go cheap when buying stuff for my daughter...I remembered having a hard time deciding between Safety 1st, American Red Cross and a few other kits. I chose this one in particular, because I wanted a good working aspirator (as most of the reviews stated) as well as I wanted good quality for my $$$. To my surprise, the aspirator is complete rubbish!!! the bulb does not squeeze as a matter of fact it pops out every time i squeeze it....I was so grateful that I kept the one from the hospital, that works fantastic! Also, I needed a dropper to give my baby her vitamins only to realize this kit had none and using the emery boards were a waste of my time,I still needed to use the nail clipper.. So really, my 3 stars are just for the comb and brush(which I use on a daily basis for my baby's hair), the nail clipper and the thermometer ( which I pray could last me long enough to compensate for the non-functional aspirator).

I'm glad that Safety 1st has made the Deluxe Healthcare & Grooming Kit. If you paid for these items individually then you would end up having to pay more with the taxes. I bought this item at Walmart for $19.34. This is the exact item. I like the soft brushes and the fact that it has a wrapping clutch with it just incase you need it. I also like the medicine dispenser. It can be a fun way of getting the infant to take their medicine when they are sick because some like to play with them. You never know what can happen. Best to be prepared!

Works great.. its a grooming kit what do you expect. My only suggestion is don't use the thermometer included, just spend the extra money and buy the forehead/ear electronic thermometer thing-a-ma-jigger and call it a day.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
We received a Safety 1st grooming kit. I really liked it, but it was a small kit. The nail files and bulb syringe did not work. I was less than impressed with these features, but was satisfied overall. The Deluxe kit has the same issues, but there are many additional items I am more than satisfied.

The bulb syringe has a clear nozzle so you can see what is sucked out, but it is two pieces. When I tries to use the bulb syringe in came apart into two separate pieces. I tried with less force and got absolutely no suction at all and it still feel into separate pieces. Bulb syringe is terrible; definitely an F. The nail files are better, but good for infants: B. The two combs and brush are bigger, so they will grow with your child. They are thick and durable with no-slip grips: A+ for all 3. The toothbrush has actual bristles, so be careful with younger babies as they can get loose. The toothbrush also has a no-slip grip and larger size to grow into: B+. The thermometer is digital, has its own case, and comes with plastic sleeves to reduce contagion. This thermometer is the same as the one I got 2 years ago, so improvement, but it decent: C. The nail clippers are excellent. They are sturdier and thicker. The clippers can cut tougher adult nails, so be careful with little fingertips. They too have the no-slip grip and a textured clip lever to more control. Also, they are larger in size, so dads and moms can hold and clip with greater control: A. The bag is a nice vibrant graphic design with playful colors. It features two pockets with clear plastic, so you can find your item with ease. The bag folds with a ribbon and metal threaders, so it's secure, but easy to undo.

I think stylish parents will really like this, but just remember that only some of these items are great, while the rest should be recycled or whatever creative idea you can come up with does not involve its intended use.

Purchased as a gift. This is for baby number two and I just thought he'd appreciate his own brush, toothbrush and nasal bulb. His mom was grateful as they had lost almost all of baby number ones kit.

Great product.... But the only thing we ended up using was the nail clipper, the brush and toiletry bag. First the things that I did use: the nail clipper. Easy to hold and very sharp. Soft Brush- my son loves it. Its like getting petted on the head. When he was younger, everytime I brushed his hair with it, he would lift his chin up with his eyes closed with a pleased expression. As he got older, he'd grab it and try to brush his own hair. The Toiletry bag... Well its useful when we travel but its not large enough for everything. And if you are a female, chances are likely you have extra toiletry/cosmetic bags that could be used in lieu of this one. The things I didnt use? The nail filers were too flimsy and ineffective, as well as hard to hold- I did better just using my full sized adult nail filer on baby nails. We also received two baby thermometers from the hospital stay, so never used this one. Given what we did end up using, $20 for a brush and nail clipper seems a bit much. The nose bulb is useless- the ones from hospital are better, or just get a Nose Frida. I'm sure if your baby comes down with something and needs to take medicine, the medicine bottle with nipple would be handy. But you could just as easily use the milk bottle. My son had very very mild cradle cap at the front of his scalp for one week. The cradle cap comb (one with rounded tips) didn't really help comb it out. We just rubbed coconut oil into his scalp to loosen up the flakes overnight and shampooed his hair following day. The tooth brush is too large for any child under one, not to mention unnecessary. And once they are mobile, you really don't want them walking around with that toothbrush in their mouth lest they trip and God forbid impale themselves. Check out the Banana Brush instead... Much safer and funner for little baby to chew on, and massage their gums.

So you really just need a nail clipper and soft baby brush. You probably have everything else already.
