Built to Grow Through 3 Stages
Adjust without the Fuss
As your little one gets bigger, the QuickFit Harness lets you adjust the headrest and harness in one quick motion. No re-threading. No re-installing.
Convenient Features at Each Stage
Built to Grow
From the headrest, to the harness straps, to the crotch strap, the seat has multiple comfort adjustment options to fit kids from birth to 10 years.
Comfort in Every Ride
Multiple recline options means kids can lean back and enjoy a more comfortable ride, even when in forward facing mode.

Product description
Get the car seat that's built to grow! From your first ride together coming home from the hospital to soccer day car pools, the 3-in-1 Grow and Go Car Seat will give your child a safer and more comfortable ride. Featuring extended use at each stage, this convertible car seat is designed to last through all your firsts with your child.
For newborns to growing toddlers, the Grow and Go can be used in the rear-facing position from 5-40 pounds. It includes two comfortable grow-with-baby pillows to give your new travel companion a snug fit, and they easily remove as your baby outgrows them.
In forward-facing mode, the Grow and Go keeps your child protected in a harness up to 65 pounds. In both rear-facing and forward-facing mode, harness holders keep the harness in an open position. This makes it easier for you to get your child in and out of the car seat. No more fishing for the harness and clips from behind your child – they’re right there when you need them. The QuickFit™ Harness offers additional convenience in both of these stages by letting you adjust the height of both the headrest and harness in one easy step, making it simple to give your growing child the best fit.
When your child is ready to use the vehicle seat belts, remove the harness to use the Grow and Go 3-in-1 Car Seat in belt-positioning booster mode: up to 100 pounds. The headrest still adjusts easily, letting you get the best fit for your child.
As your tiny baby grows into a big kid, messes are bound to happen, but the Grow and Go car seat pad makes cleanup easy. Machine washable and dryer safe, it is also designed to come off the seat easily, with no need to remove the harness. The Grow and Go is designed to provide more comfort to parents too. It takes up less room when placed rear-facing, giving up to 7 inches more leg room for parents in the front seat.

Right before my daughter turned one I poured over car seats (once again) as she rapidly outgrew her first infant "bucket" seat. I fretted, I compared, I researched to a painstaking degree. In the end, I purchased this car seat (with crossed fingers) because it had many of the features of the much more expensive "name brand" car seats without the price tag.
When the seat arrived I wasn't disappointed. It feels quite sturdy, has adequate padding, seems quite comfortable, fits inside both of our vehicles etc. It may not be the "fanciest" car seat out there, but upon first inspection it seemed to be just "fine" and I was not disappointed in my purchase.
Flash forward 6 months. My daughter is now 18 months old. We are running around taking care of errands, and I am stopped at a stop sign when *BAM* a truck smashes into our tiny hybrid HARD and I mean HARD - it's been determined the driver was going between 30 to 45 miles per hour... and I was completely STOPPED. I jarred both of my legs into the floor, bruised my shoulder area (where the buckle was), and had some pretty serious whiplash. My daughter (rear facing in this car seat) SLEPT through the crash and sustained no injuries...not a single bruise, not a hair out of place. I find that impressive. Safety 1st, did just that - kept my most precious "cargo" safe. To say I recommend this car seat would be an understatement.
I did have an initial issue with the installation. I was able to tighten the LATCH straps however, when I pulled at the belt area, I saw that the car seat could roll over. I watch The Car Seat Lady on youTube. Based on that, I have four recommendation, 1) make sure the base is CENTERED into seat and make sure the LATCH straps are centered as well. 2). Move your front seat up and climb in the car and pull the LATCH strap tighthener from behind (I installed rear facing). This will give you leverage to put your body weight in the car seat and push it down. 3) Pull the LATCH tightening strap through the belt path ( called the outside/inside method). This will also help you leverage and 4) lastly, is the seat isn’t tight, recline the seat ( I have an SUV) install
The carseat and then put the seat in the upright/regular position. According to the The Car Seat Lady, this will also assist you in getting a tight/ secure fir of the clearest so it won’t move. Note, the backend of the car seat wiggle a little bit however all the videos I watch state that if you pull back/forth and left/ right on the car seat AT THE BELT PATH, and t doesn’t move then te car seat is correctly installed. Hope that helps.

Both recline to the same point when sitting on a flat surface! They have different intervals to get there, but both get to the same point. Taking a closer look, though, the Safety First model will sit in a more reclined position when the line is parallel whereas the 4 ever required more incline (books) to achieve a centered bubble (child would be more upright in the Graco than the Safety First). See photo. I stacked booked under the hind-side to adjust to the proper level. Both seats are in the most reclined setting.
The Graco has more height in the headrest. Significantly so. I was surprised how little adjusting there is with the Safety First.
The Graco is more narrow so will fit in the car better. It is still sufficient in size for a boost-aged child. I fit in it (barely). Plenty of padding for a little baby. I would feel safe putting an infant in either.
Graco material seems more water-resistant and the foam feels denser like a memory foam.
Both adjust easily in regard to recline and headrest positions and strap tension. Both have the easy release button.
The Graco is much heavier than the Safety First.
Others have mentioned the latch system to be different. (Graco being easier). I have not installed them in the vehicle yet and cannot attest to that.
I hope this helps! This is the review I was looking for when trying to make a decision. In the end, we'll be keeping the 4 ever and either returning the Safety First or keeping it for our second vehicle.
Photos: upright & highest setting, upright & lowest setting, all the way reclined in lowest setting, and side view to show amount of lift required on solid ground in order to achieve proper line/bubble placement when fully reclined.
