I would buy this again- even though it is not the most comfortable thing to wear.
It is rated for Mold and Asbestos and other toxic dust particulates. It comes with instructions for safe use if you are not experienced with toxic dust situations. New filters for this respirator are easy to find on Amazon and elsewhere.
It takes a bit of time to get used to breathing in this, but the strong filters are there for a reason.
The straps are adjustable, and it creates a good seal on my face. If you speak up or a bit loudly you will be able to easily communicate with others in the room while this respirator is on.
Good price for good quality.
Safety first. Comfort later.
You should inspect the respirator before each use to make sure the valves are working properly, the straps are serviceable, the filters are tight, and it is clean. After each use, you should clean the mask and straps in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and place it in a clean container. It is also imperative that you have the correct filters for the contaminants you will be exposed to.
Follow these steps and you shouldn’t have a problem. It is some work to keep your respirator in tiptop shape but the question becomes, “What are your lungs worth?”
comfortable - I have wore this for several hours without any discomfort
easy adjustment - straps pull easily to get a good seal without applying too much pressure
straps seem to be wearing out and losing elasticity
One of the canisters popped out (I was able to easily reinstall it)
-It is comfortable! I can where it for hours and doesn't cause any annoyances on my face.
-Filters really well. I can be in a cloud of nonsense and breathe easy.
-Just tap the filters out and they are good to go again. So the last quite long.
-Straps are super easy to adjust.
The only downside is that if it is hot where ever you are it can be a little sweaty. But I sweat an abnormal amount, so maybe its just me.
Perhaps the only difficulty was the initial assembly of the filters onto the mask itself. I attribute this more to user error than anything wrong from the company, however. Once I figured it out, they snapped in and have held firm. I'm still on the first set of filters, so I can't comment on changing them, but it's lasted a few dusty days already.
I'm 5'-10" and should have ordered a large.
