2013 EP from the 25 year old R&B singer/songwriter. She caught the attention on the industry with her critically acclaimed mix-tape Sailing Soul(s) which included the track "July" featuring Drake. After recording over 20 songs, Jhene decided to pick the hottest six and release an EP. These songs are a natural progression from Sailing Soul(s). Sail Out consists of those six new songs and features appearances by Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Ab-Soul and Kendrick Lamar. Jhene also has a rapping alter -ego named J. Hennessy who is featured on the EP as well.

Generally I wasn't impressed with this album. I tend to hold 6-7 track albums to higher standard. Dont get me wrong she has a great singing voice but the songs themselves were just boring for the most part. A lack of originality is probably what it is. Given today's over saturated music environment its very easy to drop something new and its sounds like something from 6 months ago. I'd say to anyone stream this first then decide if you want to move forward.

I listened to the album on YouTube before purchasing and I fell in love with Jhene Aiko's voice and sound. the CD gives a type of tranquil/cool R&B vibe and I love it. gave this 4 stars only because the back was cracked. I didn't mind so much though because the disc was the only thing that mattered most and it was working perfectly fine.

This EP is an excellent choice for those who are unfamiliar with Jhene Aiko. Her voice is hynotic and alluring. Her mixtape "Sailing Souls" was released before this and it showcased alot of her potential and this EP continues right where the mixtape left off. Jhene aiko is that missing element from R&B music since Aaliyah. She is definetly an artist to be on the look out for this year.

Her style is unique and quite rightly so, as evidence of her Asian characteristics blends harmoniously with contemporary Hip hop resulting in the smooth charismatic hybridization that is just gleefully entertaining. Love her.

Her flow is interesting and while I was hoping for more it is an EP and most times priced correctly. 'The Worst' is definitely a good R&B track while the rest of the tracks have their own worth. It's too bad she had a falling out with previous labels and possibly didn't get to release what she was going to release. Still a good album to add to your contemporary R&B collection.

This cd is soooo good and soooo underrated. Wow I liked Jhene Aiko's song "the Worst" but the whole cd is good I can listen to it over and over and not get tired of it. She is like the 2nd "urban" coming of Sade (whom I love). With so many artist now sounding the same or trying to see who can push the envelope the furthest she is a breath of fresh air.

Ok. Jhene' Aiko is a great and talented artist. The music is great! The 3 stars is because of the actual CD. I am one of the few people who has not yet switched to ipod/mp3. I still use the CD player in my car. This CD however was defective. The first song on the CD takes about 30 seconds of silence before it plays. It irritates me because The Vapors is my favorite song!

This album has some chilled tracks on it and I enjoy coming home after a long day at work to listen to my music. Sail Out has become part of my collection of favourites. I was meaning to order a different Jhene Aiko album with a similar name but by mistake ordered this one. I am happy with the album and love her voice so didn't feel the need to return it when I realised I had ordered the wrong one.
Some tracks are upbeat and most are chilled, there are some collaborations that work really well and give the tracks something a bit different. Sail Out is not all samey, which I was worried about. I recommend this album if you like Jhene Aiko, Stay Ready, The Worst and Comfort Inn Ending are in my opinion the best tracks.
