In 2013, Deep Silver published a game that got lost in the shuffle due to the large amount of games that were in contention for Game of the Year. That game was Saints Row IV.

Saints Row IV isn't anything particularly groundbreaking, but it's probably the most fun you will have playing a game until Saints Row V.

Same City, New Problems:

In Saints Row IV, you return to Steelport once again as The Boss. Only this time, you are the President of the United States of America. Yeah.... Unfortunately, very early in your tenure an Alien named Zinyak and his army invade Earth, kidnap The Boss and lock him in a virtual reality (Oh my!). Your objective is to breakout of the virtual reality and stop Zinyak! Easy, right?

The "Scary Movie" of Video Games:

Saints Row IV is the Scary Movie of video games. Not like Michael Myers or Leatherface scary, I mean the comedy spoof film from 2000. That's basically what Saints Row IV is and you may find that off putting. It really sounds like it as I'm typing it, so I don't blame you. But the game is all in good fun. The game makes fun of various other games and movies like: Mass Effect, Metal Gear Solid, Halo, Star Wars, Tron, The Matrix etc... So yeah, the game has a lot that makes it fun.

What's New:

There's not a whole lot new here if you bought all of the DLC for the previous generation (luckily, I didn't). This version does come with every bit of DLC that has been released and the graphics have been upscaled to 1080p. There are also new voice commands and the option to use the PS4's touchpad during QTE's.

The game does look better, but visuals have never been Saints Row's strong suit.

Before people start giving out low rating. This game is Saints Row IV (Yes same as the Ps3 version) but with new DLC and better looking.. The game runs pretty smooth on PS4. And the DLC is just as good. Hopefully we don't get another update that corrupts the in game armory again..

Stupid good fun. What else can I say? A sheer joy to play and a truly fun video game, which is rare these days. Filled with pop culture references and crazy in-jokes, SR4 is a pretty strong title and the addition of Gat Out of Hell makes it even better. Love the inclusion of all the DLC on this release, too. It's kind of nuts to look at a game and see just how much they nickel and dime these days with DLC, flipping crazy.

Buy this game if you love the Saints, buy it if you don't know who the ***bleep*** the Saints are. You'll have a great time either way.

(NOTE FOR PARENTS, THIS GAME IS NOT FOR KIDS. HAS STRONG SEXUAL CONTENT, VIOLENCE, AND EXTREME PROFANITY) Be a good parent, and don't buy for your kids!

I'm probably the minority ,but I didn't buy this when it was relesaed on the current gen consoles. Not that I wasnt' interested, but just had a back log of games. So I was happy to see this being released on my beloved ps4 system. So... I only played for a couple of hours so far but 2 hours in, I didn't really want to stop, I'm really enjoying this game. I can't say for sure how much better it is on ps4, but I definitely think it's purtier. The amount of crazyness that goes on screen is insane and I didn't see an ounce of slow down. No screen tear, minimal load times and awesome soundtrack.

The voice acting and story line will entertain and you'll fall in love with all the characters. Oh man, if this game was a person, it could do stand up comedy. The story is nonsensical but you won't care much, it's crazy zaniness you'll fall in love with. It's hilarious! Make no mistake, It is completely different from all of the ones before it, and it really shares little with the previous games in the series. But one thing that didn't get removed, is the fun, this game is an absolute blast. The story is nearly indescribable and so crazy and delirously stupid, I can't even know where to begin, But the stupidity is what makes it so enjoyable. You start out as the President of the United States when the world is suddenly attacked by rogue aliens. Your character will eventually get some way cool super powers that allow you to do various things that you couldn't do before in the past games! If I had a nitpick, I feel the super powers out play your weapons.

Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is an excellent remaster of a great, off the wall open world action game. Gat out of Hell, its standalone expansion similar to Infamous' First Light for the Infamous series, introduces new powers and four-six more hours of crazy fun via a download code inside the case.

However, as some have mentioned, some people, myself included, experience game breaking glitches that cause the game to freeze. The only way to combat these glitches is to unplug your console from the wall and risk corrupting data.

I put 15 hours into this game and had it crash my PS4 eight times. Another time, my character glitched through the ground and crashed my console in an entirely new way.

Just shy of one crash per hour, I contacted Deep Silver and they essentially told me that because it doesn't happen to everyone that plays, they will "forward the problem to Volition and contact me once they figure out the source of the glitch." This, mind you, came six days after my initial inquiry. Concerned it reached the wrong recipient, I also emailed their tech support with the same message only to have Deep Silver ask me to not open up multiple inquiries in the future.

How about you guys not release a game that contains game breaking glitches? The number of people it happens to is irrelevant. It should happen to no one if you are a true AAA developer.

The game is great, I only wish I could have played it all the way through without glitches and frustration. Buy with extreme caution, you may be one of those that experiences glitches, like me. I promised Deep Silver I would let as many people know as I could, so consider this a public service announcement and another open inquiry.
