There was some kind splotchy film on the disc. I tried several methods to remove this film with no luck. It costs to much return, so I just trashed it. I don't hold the vender responsible for this defect as the DVD was in a factory sealed package when it arrived. It was old disc so time and environment could have taken their toll.

From the acclaimed television and OVA series comes the full length movie of Sakura Wars. The animation is much better in this movie and when you watch the Oobu being loaded on the transporter bullet engine you are in for a wild treat.
Some characters may appear to be flately drawn but this is a more somber and darker movie.
If not familier with the characters do not get this first but buy the TV series then the OVA series followed by this movie. It is then that you will understand the characters. I would have given it a 5 star, but the extended CGI loading and launching of the bullet engine was a bit distracting from the story line.

I was not familiar with this title, but I was please with the the show. The music was pleasant.

I would have liked more episodes, but it was only a single UMD.

I recomend this title.

I'm dissappointed at this anime, after reading the reviews, I expected better. I mean the artwork is very good and consistant throughout the movies, but the storyline is the same old thing as the series! No character development, a lot of screaming while fighting inside the dorky looking robots and the same ole worrying about the other guy getting hurt, instead of concentrating on the fighting and protect yourself! I mean really who fights like that? I though everything was steam powered, but I guess I misunderstand, they must have meant scream powered!
