I just finished reading a copy of this book, recently acquired at eBay. It is a great sales book that goes to the core of selling. It was written 40+ years ago, but its information is the foundation of the true selling profession today. J. Douglas Edwards was the #1 Sales Trainer of his time. He was the person that trained Tom Hopkins. Read it! (If you can find a copy).

Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is definitely a very good book on sales technique. Mr. Douglas Edwards really gets to the fundamentals of the profession of selling. To me, this is a bit like as if Sherlock Holmes were a sales trainer. Very abstract and basic, some really helpful techniques here that get your mind thinking. Mr. Douglas Edwards seems to actually make really high-level truths about sales technique seem to be new and exciting. He had a great reputation for being a sales trainer and guru, and reading this book you could still think of him as being underrated, even for all those compliments.

I bought this thinking it was Sales Closing Power by Bill Bishop which I did find by Google search. Nothing in common. J.Douglas Edwards is like a half century old. Bill Bishop's Sales Closing Power is new and why it's not on Amazon is beyond me. Worth the trouble to find.
