GORE-TEX Waterproof

I used the amazon wardrobe offer to buy a bunch of hiking boots so I could find the best fitting, with emphasis also on build quality, material, comfort and keep that pair. I tried Banner, Bates, Keen, Merrel and I think Rocky. These Salomon are the real deal! I was looking for a comfortable pair of hiking boots for use during turkey season where I generally put in several miles each day up and down the steep hills of the Homochitto. Most of the boots didn't fit right for the size, and I was worried that these were going to be too narrow since I wear wide shoes and there are reviews of these being narrow. They do seem a little narrow when looking at them, but they are comfortable on my wide feet. They didn't need break in time, but I have roughly 65 miles on them and they just got better and better. They have held up perfectly and I was rough on them. I would definitely buy them again!

As per youtube video review, I ordered the boot 1/2 size bigger. usually I order my size and if they are to tight, I order a wide. This time I took the advise of a youtube reviewer and got the 1/2 size and I was impressed on the perfect fit.
Also, as per the youtube reviews, these boots are excellent for wet weather due to the GORTEX, but if you want warmth find something different. I would consider these boots a 3 season boot. when the temps are in the low 30's or high 20's my feet got cold, but if I put on 2 pairs of socks or warmer socks I was fine. Being the fact I already have warmer boots for snow, these work perfect as a hangout boot when not hiking or fishing around local parks.

This is a great boot for the money. They're not overly heavy, although heavier than my Under Armor Speed Freak boots. They feel very sturdy and seem like they will hold up well to what I will put them through. They are comfortable, but not as comfortable as my Speed Freaks. However, I like the design much better as it is easier to match with any kind of clothes. Still a really nice boot overall.

These seem to be really nice hiking boots, but they were a bit too wide for my B-width foot. Also, for a fabric boot, they were a bit stiff with laces that were somewhat slick, and had a bit of extra medial support that I didn't care for. If I was a C-width and a supinator, these would have been great boots. The search continues . . .

I ended up returning these boots because of a poor fit, and heavy weight. The poor fit may be related to having fairly narrow feet, however it was the insoles that felt lumpy on my arches. I ended up purchasing significantly lighter (and more expensive) Hoka One Ones. Although the Hokas are nearly double the price, they have proven their worth to me on multiple trips.

I have a pair Ive had for just shy of 10 years. I haven't been able to locate in the stores. Found these and they looked very similar with some minor cosmetic changes. I received them, and wow. These seem to be made much cheaper than my last pair and Im considering sending them back. They just feel like there so much more cheaply made, molded, made in China shoes. Historically they felt more rugged and convincing. Im curious if they'll feel as ready to wear and broke in as my previous pair felt out of the box. Ill have to decide if Im sending them back or not before I wear them and figure that out though.

I have always just purchased cheaper brands of trainers and hiking boots etc until now. Having been advised by a friend just how great Salomon boots are, I finally took the plunge and spent more money on a pair of Salomon's. These boots have opened my eyes to why you should spend more money on footwear. These boots are so light weight ! They fit so well, and they do not rub at all. The comfort is amazing and I can walk so much further in so much more comfort. Done a few 10 mile walks across countryside so far and no aches, no blisters and no discomfort. It's like walking on air and the quality is clearly there in these superb boots. I've immediately purchased another 2 pairs of Salomon's whilst on offer. I recommend also a good pair of Marino wool walking socks, which although expensive, just add to the comfort if you walk a lot and also stop your feet sweating as they will in cheap ordinary socks. These boots will last well and are waterproof. Highly recommended.

These boots are very comfortable and although the sole isn’t vibram, the sole still feels very durable with lots of grip and tread.

However, the sole (pun intended) reason for purchasing these boots were because they claim to be waterproof which they are not!

I’ve had these boots for around 3-4 days and on the first day it rained, the boots let water in, so disappointed. Contacted Amazon for a replacement but they were only able to offer a re funds upon return. Such a shame, big disappointment. Should have just paid the extra and ordered Scarpa in the first place.

I read many reviews on these and their were a few people who gave them a bad review. I've had several pairs of hiking boots and these are the best ones i have owned. Before i used them outdoors, i handed washed them with Grangers waterproof apparel which i use on all my waterproof clothing also sprayed them with Grangers water repellant.
I took my dog out for a walk during the last few days of the Storm Dennis we have had and i had no rain coming through the boots, i've walked through puddles no problems at all. They are light weight and really comfortable to wear. Highly recommended.

I'm a size 11.5, and I buy size 12 so that I get the width I need. These boots at size 12 are too narrow, but even worse are FAR too short. I've never worn shoes or boots before that are sized so badly that they aren't even high enough to get my feet in under the tongue! I have read so many others having the same problem. These are supposed to be a high quality product from a well-liked manufacturer, yet for years they have ignored what so many have said about their boots being too short. So I can't give any more of a review than that as I cannot even get them on. I went for a different make, half the price, that are so far perfectly good and actually fit me.

Not bad, only paid £90.00 in the sale, but the tongue doesn't tuck into the sides as it's too thick and collects in the middle in a roll form. This then means that my ankles get sore as there's no padding against the sides of the boots. Tried tying tighter / looser to no success.
Probably can't return them now as I've worn them, but this design fault takes a few hours to discover, it's not something that would be noticed by just trying them on.
Annoying as heck. It's just basic shoe / boot design element that shouldn't be a hit and miss out come.
