Fits 0.5 size smaller than usual and they are not really wide; unfortunately!

1) They run 0.5 size smaller than most 2) no room for orthotic inserts since standard included soles cannot be removed 3) Not wide. Shoes look great but they are not truly wide; unfortunately. Please see other review in "questions" were the same problem is discussed. I had exactly the same experience. If you are looking for truly wide shoes; look somewhere else. Purchased the M+ which is supposed to be wide. However; they fit exactly like the regular width XA PRO 3D shoes (put them next to each other and there is no difference in width); toe cap is (barely) fine but they are indeed not sufficiently wide around the mid-arch area; feels like my feet are bound together; way too tight. And I even went 0.5 size larger (11.5 instead of the 11 I usually wear in different brands). I am sorry to say that they really do not feel like wide shoes at all. I therefore need to return them. Bummer! If Salomon makes truly "wider" shoes; please advice. Thank you.

If you are looking for a truly wide hiking boot, look you further. I have tested way too many of them and I finally found one that is sufficiently wide for my feet + "has room for my orthotic inserts"; after you remove the regular insoles. The CoolMax Ryno Gear Tactical Combat Boots. I use them for long hikes too! Plus; they fit true to size and they only cost $39.99.

I have been wearing Salomon XA Pro 3D's for many years now and this latest pair does not disappoint. I recently bought a pair of Salomon Speedcross 3's thinking that they would have better support. They do in fact have more support but I found them too narrow and too stiff for regular day-to-day activities such as walking. These XA Pro 3D+'s are roomier and are perfect for day-to-day use.

The shoes passed the first rainy day test. It was raining cats and dogs and my socks are kept dry. Very good for autumn and winter time. It looks much better than most of salmon shoes, gives a great arch and is relatively light weight. Just go half a size bigger than your normal dress shoes size.
