I cast my own lead balls for the .45 and wrap them in cigarette paper for correct dia.(slug your bore) then lube the paper with dry PTFE lube , Teflon. I also cast my own 155 gr pistol bullet and also lube with PTFE . Paper wrapping has had no ill effect over several hundred rounds and the PTFE dry lube works slicker then cat s*!+. Its dry and non flammable , you must let the carrier dry completely.
Vel. went up 25 fps over my chrono. double ck. dia. and use only lead.
