About Samantha Free
I grew up in a small town in Oklahoma. My graduating class was only a little over 30 if that gives you a clue as to just how small it was. I moved to a city a couple hours south of my hometown in 2011, and I have definitely become a city girl since then. I love the people and the chaos even though I choose to spend hours at a time alone. I have three siblings: an older brother, a younger sister, and a younger brother. We have all grown up and have our own lives now. My younger siblings and I were raised my a single mother who I love more than words can say. However, my favorite person in the entire world would have to be my baby brother's daughter. Being an aunt brings the greatest joy to my life. To say I am a proud auntie would be an understatement.
I have an Associates of English Degree, a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and a Master’s Degree in Library Media and Information Technology. I am currently working on a second graduate level degree which is a Master's in Library and Information Studies. My first library degree is for being a school librarian while I am obtaining this second master's degree in order to become an academic librarian. I love books. They are my passion. I remember always having a book in my hands as a child and young adult. However, I didn’t discover the joy in writing until eighth grade when I entered a poetry contest at school to try to get a poem published. I wrote poetry constantly after that. It was my way of expressing myself.
I started my first novel in college. “Her Unattainable Guy” took me a few years to finish as I was completing my undergraduate degree. I first published it as a Kindle Book on Amazon in January of 2012 at the age of 24. I have since published a book of poems as well which is titled “Between Who She is and Who She Wants.” Both of my published works are now available on Amazon’s Kindle or Barnes and Noble’s Nook.
I am currently working on my second novel “Anyone But Him.” The release date for it is still undecided.
When Jacob Grant returns to his hometown after being gone for six years, he doesn’t expect life to be like it was before he left. He left town as the golden boy, and returns as the divorced dad of a five year old little girl. Jake came back to give his daughter the sense of family and community he had growing up. He never expected that the biggest surprise he would face was the friendship he begins to form with his neighbor and childhood friend Allie Emerson.
As Allie and Jake become closer friends than they ever were before, Allie can’t help but wonder if Jake’s homecoming is just a cruel twist of fate or a second chance with “Her Unattainable Guy”.
