Same Trailer Different Park is AMAZING!

I discovered Kacey Musgraves when I made some music purchases over the summer and, since both of her albums got stellar reviews, I purchased Same Trailer Different Park and Pageant Material. After I finished listening to this album, I was simply amazing by how talented Kacey Musgraves is! Her voice is powerful, clear, and has a touch of that classic country style which makes her music very unique. Ms. Musgraves is definitely a pure country artist (I wouldn't consider any of her music to be classified as a pop/country crossover personally) and I love that her style includes a twist of classic country. I can listen to her music over and over again because it is not only beautiful, it is also funny. Ms. Musgraves is very honest and isn't afraid to speak her mind. I enjoyed every song on this album but my personal favorites are "Silver Lining," "My House," "Merry Go 'Round," "Blowin' Smoke," and "Follow Your Arrow." Every time I listen to her music, I like it even more!

The other thing that amazes me about this album is that Ms. Musgraves not only had a hand in writing every single song, she also co-produced the album! Knowing this information about Same Trailer Different Park and hearing her voice has only made me admire her more.

I will be enjoying both of Kacey Musgraves' albums for a long time to come and look forward to any future albums she releases. I highly recommend Same Trailer Different Park!

Kacey Musgraves Same Trail Different Park

As most people the first I ever heard of Kacey Musgraves was the song "Merry Go Round" it was fresh and different from the watered down pop on the radio today. I purchased the song on mp3 and played it for a couple of months but when I saw she had a cd coming out I decided to buy it. The Cd contains a mix of original songs that are different from any other artist on the radio today, some of the songs on the cd are "My House" , "Silver Lining" , "Blowin Smoke" a very quircky and funny song "Follow your Arrow" a song about going against the grain and finding your own way through life, and the hit "Merry Go Round" I love almost every song on this cd and hope to see her perform live soon, I believe she is on tour with "Kenny Chesney" this summer. Buy this cd it is a collection of very different and unique songs from a very talented young song writer and singer

I am new to Kacey Musgraves, but was pleasantly surprised by the Album. She definitely sounds like she has some good country roots, that isn't washed out by the new age direction, like some of the overproduced country music you hear. It's almost like today's country is confused on what they are. Are they country or are they hip hop. I am an old country music fan, so I am always cautious of how these new artist will sound. She has another one coming out soon, from what I hear and would also like to listen to that one as well.

Old school country with a new perspective.

I grew up on country music, like just about everyone else in Arkansas. Unfortunately, the older I've become, the less I've found radio-friendly country that I can relate to. I still listen to a lot of music that falls into the americana, alt-country, or folk category, but not much of the more mainstream stuff. When I read positive reviews of this album online, I was immediately incredibly excited and the album hasn't disappointed. Her lyrics are completely on-point not just when it comes to being from a smaller town, but just being a young person. Her musicality reminds me of the music on the radio in the 80s and 90s but with some of the upbeat pop of modern country without being bogged down in overproduction. I've listened to this album a few dozen times by now and forced most of my family and friends to listen as well. Totally worth the download.

Some of her best songs are on this CD like Merry Go 'Round, Follow Your Arrow, & Blowin' Smoke! I also enjoy the song Silver Lining! There is 12 songs in all on this CD! Really like this CD!

Refreshingly unique - and worthy of all its awards

When I heard the first song by Kacey Musgraves, I was intrigued. So, before all the attention came her way, I purchased this CD. It was a real find. She is another of the small number of singer/songwriters with true talent for performing her own music better than anyone else could. Her lyrics are so real, and poetic. She cuts to the chase in what she's saying in Love is Stupid and Follow Your Arrow. Dandelion is my second favorite on this CD because it's so simple and sweet. But my absolute favorite is My House. I saw her perfom it with her band on TV, and it is fantastic! It's short and sweet - I'm sure it would never be a single but this song alone is worth the cost of the album. She also wrote Miranda Lambert's hit "Mama's Broken Heart". Although her version is not on this album, you would be surprised to hear her version. She is definitely a true talent.

Not even kidding . . . I've only known about Kacey Musgraves since July (a little over 6 months), and this is unquestionably one of my favorite albums of all time. Because it is just that -- a well crafted ALBUM. It's not a couple singles padded with throwaway filler songs, but an honest-to-goodness, bona fide, old fashioned work of art. Her songwriting can go toe-to-toe with the best out there (past or present); and then, of course, there's that voice! Do yourself a favor and BUY THIS RECORD!! You need to own it, seriously.
