REVIEW: 4.5 Stars
I've seen a notable number of reviews for this book that were written by less than impressed readers and, I'll be honest, it really made me hesitate to pick it up. From reading those other reviews it was pretty clear that the issue was the way the story begins. Most readers assumed (naturally) that the book would start with Sam meeting the other couple and we'd experience the growth of their relationship from there. Instead this story opens on the day Jack and Dante are preparing to say goodbye to Sam. Again, some readers naturally assumed that the birth of this relationship happened in the first book of the series, but, and I can only repeat what these other reviewers have written, apparently that isn't the case. Although the three men do appear in the first book, it doesn't include any on-page insight into their getting together. We're simply told here that Jack and Dante were attracted to Sam and the three men have been living and loving together, as per their agreement, while Jack and Dante are in town.
I can only assume it was the fact that I went into Sam's Soldiers armed with that information that allowed me to enjoy the book without that frustrated beginning that some readers experienced. Because I'll admit, I started reading expecting to be discouraged and instead I loved this story from page one. I was crazy impressed that the author made me teary over the ending of a relationship that I shouldn't have even been invested in. I didn't yet know these characters yet the author made me hurt for them. That takes some mad writing skills!
As to the rest of the story, after breaking my heart with that beginning the author kept the pace fast and riveting. There was so much story packed into just over 100 pages that it didn't feel like I'd just read a novella but a full length book. There was action and violence and awesome friendships and of course the required love story. Then it's topped off with a happy ending that would surely satisfy the romance junkie inside all of us.
I read this book as a standalone, and it works as such, but I'm now going to go read the first book in the series, simply because I was so impressed with this one.

These three men together are enough to set anyone's heart beating into overdrive. When they are apart, they completely break your heart but when together they show what true love is all about.
It was such an amazing read that was filled with lust, love, crazy hot sex, danger, action, and so much more. This is the first book I have read in this series but I will definitely be reading more in the future. Definitely a book that I recommend for others.
Was given this galley copy for free for an open and honest review

I'm not normally into ménage, but there was only one scene that I didn't particularly like, but I understand the need for it in the book.
Sam is one lucky guy, what I wouldn't give to be in that soldier sandwich.. Yummo!
