1 Well made, not flimsy.
2 Comes with two different mounting solutions and can accommodate thick desktops.
3 The boom is stiffer compared to my cheaper boom and that is welcome. It moves easily but stays firmly in place.
4 There is a way to run a cable internally but some soldering will be required. Once complete it is very clean looking.
5 Silent adustment
6 Great reach and easy to get out of the way.
1 I didn't buy this first!
2 Not much info is available on youtube about it but I will make a vid once I get my desk cleaned up.
PS: Unless you are looking for something really high dollar this boom is more than adequate for pro or hobbyist use.
Still very very happy with this boom arm. Works perfectly and I use it everyday! Great job Samson!
Oh yeah, the C-Clamp opens 3" so the official product description, even the description on their website is inaccurate.
I was also impressed by the box this mic boom came in. It was a big box filled with professional-grade air cushion films. Then inside that box was the product itself settled in styro foam cushion. I really appreciate when a company does extra care in packaging their products. To me, it's a testament that Samson is truly committed in bringing quality products and to customer satisfaction. It's the reason why my mic is also from Samson :)

You would have hoped a mic arm would be able to hold a mic and a shock mount.
Update: Had to send the stand back as it could cope with the weight of a mic and shock absorber
The mic arm was clearly damaged due to shipping (I had photos to prove) and it was opened only after 30 days because it was bought as a gift which I explained.
I was only able to get it replaced after getting Amazon involved and after multiple emails the seller required me to damage the mic arm so it would not be useable.
The arm is actually build very strong and in the process of damaging the mic arm beyond useable condition, it caused some damage to my house and put myself and others in danger.
There was a spring under high compression inside the mic arm which is part of its design and when damaging the mic arm ( as required to do if I wanted it replaced) it shot at high velocity across the room nearly hitting my wife and dog and breaking a glass.
There is no doubt in my mind that someone could have and most likely would have been very much injured if they would have come in contact with the spring.
(Ex: if you got hit in the eye with the spring? I really doubt you would still have that eye afterwards)
The seller should never have put a customer in the position of needed to destroy their product when I am unaware of the hazards to do so.
I just want to make it clear that the seller gave me one option only to have the product replaced and that was to damage the product beyond use. (They specifically said they would not ship it back to them)
Overall the product itself is good but the lack of responsibly from the seller was disappointing.
Regardless, I tried it out and it works well. It holds my Samson G Track Pro very firmly. If anything, it may be a little too stiff but I think that I can adjust the tension. It does not make any noise when I move it either.
I was able to mount an inexpensive pop-filter on the mounting arm.
Very happy with the purchase so far.
