A note on dimensions: This unit is listed as being 9 x 19 x 14. American Airlines (my regular airline) says the maximum carry on size is 9 x 22 x 14 respectively. I can confirm this will fit in the overhead space of a Super 80 (McDonnell Douglas MD-80) on the "D, E, F" side of the plane EXCEPT in Bulkhead first class Row 3 as that one bin is slightly tapered. Anyone who's had any problem being able to carry-on this case should use one of those handy "Check your bag" stations setup in every airport, usually at almost every American Airlines departure gate as well. If it will fit in an MD80, I guarantee you it will fit in all 737, 747, etc in overhead. It will not (as many bags do not) fit in an Embrarer Regional or Canadian Regional Jet (ERJ or CRJ). However you can side check it as you're supposed to in these cases.
I have 2 big complaints about this case. First, just like my previous one, the rails for the telescoping handle are housed within the case itself instead of on the outside - this is fine, I like it that way. In my old case, this allowed me to roll up socks or other small items and jam them into the nooks and crannies around the tubing internally which housed the telescoping handles. However with this unit, they've put some thin plastic cover infront of those areas between the liner material and the tubes.Read more ›
For your regional with the tiny aircraft, it will be gate-checked.
For your widebodies and your narrow-bodies, it will fit just fine in overhead bin with wheels out.
The bag is spacious IMO because I have no trouble packing for a whole week out of town (my business trips are usually depart monday come back friday when domestic---depart sunday (or saturday) and come back back the following weekend for int'l.
Top compartment -- 2 pairs of shoes (dress shoes for the presentations I give, workout/gym shoes for the fitness center)
workout clothes on top. Secured with a flap separator that attaches to hooks built into the casing. In the flap separator, there is a zippered compartment -- this is where I put 2 belts
Bottom compartment--2 pairs of dress pants + 1 pair of jeans folded into quarters and stacked on one side
4-5 pairs of underwear, 4 tee-shirts down the middle,
3 dress shirts, 1 casual shirt and 2 v-neck sweaters on the right side, looped belt stashed above or below the shirts
There is STILL room for probably a few more items!
I was easily able to put in two pairs of shoes, two pairs of pants, undershirts, shirts, sweaters-- quite enough for the three days/two nights trip I just took, and likely, had I taken a bit more time (and was more attached to stricter folding of items), I could likely have fit enough clothes for a five day trip.
As far as being carry-on sized, I cannot say, but being as that I live in a smallish city where regional flights make typical carry-on sized bags into "cabin checked" bags, I can speak to the durability of the exterior under checked bag conditions. Granted, as of now, this has only been used on one trip (with three flights each way and associated baggage handling), but I see NO wear whatsoever. The bag looks BRAND NEW. I honestly have not been able to say this about any other bag. I certainly do not think this is a "bulletproof" spinner that will always look this way-- eventually that event that scratches the surface will happen-- but having a bag look just the way it did after my trip as it did when I unboxed it? That's something.Read more ›

The only one that I think is which is a little heavy, the other are fine.
I like it coz the build quality is great. Easy to set up for the lock. Plus it looks like a 500 carry on luggage but for less. It compliments my other Samsonite spinner luggagesPublished 10 months ago by Jeffrey only
