This suitcase is also more likely to tip over while standing upright if it is not packed with an even weight distribution - so be careful of that.
As an aside, the zipper pulls are flexible rubber and less nice than the metal zipper pulls I had on my last Samsonite spinner.
I would not recommend this suitcase.
Lightweight but very sturdy
Excellent ergonomics in bag design (pockets, straps, etc.
Great handles top, side, bottom make it easy to lift the back even when full. The top and side handles are especially brilliant.
Quality wheels and handle for wheeling
This sometimes wheels fine but sometimes it's downright balky, not just on carpets. Because of its size, when it's hard to wheel it's actually a bit of a strain on the shoulder. I end up pushing. That helps.
Others complained about this bag tipping over, and my smaller spinner from Eagle Creek has given me grief in that regard. I always pack this one so that the heaviest weight is on the bottom and to the rear when the bag stands up. I'm especially careful when I open the gusset to put the lightest things to the top of the bag so that when it stands up the weight is to the rear. As a result I've had no problems. I'm pretty sure that careless packing would cause the bag to tip over.
All spinners I've tried or owned need to be held steady when commuting to and from the airport.
My bottom line: For carry on bags the a spinner is brilliant because you can wheel it sideways through the lovely roomy aisles that you get on airplanes these days. That's a very real benefit that you get each time you fly and it's worth a few hassles. For a larger bag that must be checked, there's no need to wheel it sideways. It's nice to roll it on all four wheels but when it won't wheel smoothly that's more of a hindrance than a help. Consider getting a non-spinner unless you wish to pony up top dollar for the very best models.
